The New Avenger (Infinity War)

The Snap

When I get to Vision, the larger of the two aliens is hitting him with his hammer. Batting him around like he is a ragdoll. Before I can do anything I dive out of the way of Banner in the Hulk Buster suit, who barely missed me when he lands. "Sorry, Phoebe. Still getting used to this suit." Banner and I turn to the alien who is snarling as he takes a defensive stance. "Ohh no, Oh no you don't." Banner shouts, "This isn't going to be like New York pal. This suit's already kicked the crap out of the Hulk." The alien jumps forward grabbing the Hulk Buster's right arm and Banner in reflex, grabs the alien's hammer, before firing off a jet and takes the two of them in a random direction.

Since the two of them are busy with each other, I run over to Vision. But before I can get to him I hear very odd scream and look up to see the alien being dragged across the forcefield, before exploding, "Damn Banner."

When I get to Vision another alien, who I haven't seen before is holding Vision by his throat, his blade plunged into the android's chest. "I thought you were a formidable, machine. But you're dying, like any man." The alien yanks his blade out of Vision and he collapses.

As he bends over his fallen opponent to retrieve the Stone, I run at him, full speed, tackling him to the ground. "Get outta here, Vision!" I try my best to dodge the swings of the alien, but ultimately get hit a few times. I do my best to keep blocking the staff the alien is wielding, but I finally get a hold of the staff, shocking it, causing the alien to let go of it. When he does, I throw it away from the two of us, just before being thrown into a tree and being pinned, the alien's hand on my throat. I look over and I see Rogers standing there in shock. But before he or I can do anything the alien lets out a yell of pain and drops me. As I look up, I see Vision holding up the alien, the staff through his chest. Before dropping the corpse to one side and collapsing, exhausted. Rogers gets to him first and I come up as Rogers helps Vision up. "I thought I told you to go."

Vision looks from me to Rogers, then back to me, "We don't trade lives."

Wanda gets there, running over to Vision as she lands, "Are you okay?" Vision flinches in pain before he can answer, "What? What is it?"

"He's here," Vision looks around.

Rogers speaks into his earpiece, "Everyone, on my position. We have incoming." we are soon joined by Nat, Wilson, Okoye, and T'Challa in short order.

"What the hell?" Nat asks.

We see the blue-black clouds of a Space Stone relocation just before Thanos steps forward, and confirms this isn't just another member of the Black Order, Bruce takes a deep breath, "Cap. That's him."

"Eyes up." Rogers nods, "Stay sharp."

Bruce reaches Thanos first, lunging forward fist-first but Thanos uses the Space Stone on him, renders him immaterial until the Hulkbuster is half-buried in the stone of the cliff behind him, freezing Bruce in place. Rogers and I are sent flying by purple energy before we even get to strike a single blow. T'Challa, armor fully charged kinetically, leaps high and with claws extended, but is easily grabbed by the throat and punched to the ground, his armor discharging violently. Wilson stoops, strafing with both Steyr pistols, but is felled when his wings become rubbery and unable to sustain flight.

I look up to see Vision holding Wanda's hand, "Wanda. It's time."

"No." Wanda shakes her head.

"they can't stop him, Wanda, but we can. Look at me. You have the power to destroy the stone."

"Don't"

"You must do it. Wanda, please. We. Are. Out of time."

"I can't."
