I slowly opened my eyes only to be blinded with the bright light of the sun. I sit up and adjust myself to my surroundings. Like usual, Erika and mom were downstairs arguing about whatever. I get up take a quick shower and get dressed into fresh clothes.
As I walk downstairs, the arguing gets worse and worse, as if the closer I am to them the worse their argument is. By the time I reach the bottom of the stairs it's basically a full on screaming competition.
I walk into the kitchen to see my mother raise her hand in the air, and with one fell swoop it landed across Erika's cheek, making her stumble back slightly. The house goes quiet as she looks at her in disbelief.
"This is MY fucking house. YOU are MY child. So you abide by MY rules." She says. She turns around and walks out the room.
I quickly glance at Erika, no emotion in my face. "What the fuck are you looking at!?" She asks angrily."
"Im looking at a scared little girl." I say.
"Excuse me?" She says, her tone very pointed. I shrug and grab a snack from the fridge and head out.
I listen to music and stare up at the sky as I walk to school. Dreading when I'll actually arrive there. Eventually I do, and I go to homeroom. As I'm walking past my teacher she says, "ah ah ah, the principle would like to speak to you." She spins me around and pushes me out the classroom. I sigh heavily and walk to the principals office.
I knock two times in the door, only to hear a deep voice say "come in." I open the door to see that principal sitting at his desk with a police officer standing next to him. "Take a seat." He says, gesturing me to sit down. So I do.
"It has come to my attention that you have brutally attacked a student here." He says.
"Bitch had it coming." I say back, no emotion in my voice.
"She is one of our most prized students. Noting but straight A's. She's on the cheerleading team-"
"Why did you want me to come here?" I cut him off.
"Because. I'm giving you two options. Either walk out the door, leave the school, and never come back. Or you can resist and be arrested." He says sternly.
"You're expelling me?" I ask, my voice heightening.
"You attacked a student. And I take students safety very seriously." He says.
"Whatever." I say standing up and purposely tip over the chair. I stomp out the room and walk down the hall to see her again. She's standing at her locker balling her eyes out. Kyles not with her which in unusual, usually he goes everywhere with her. I notice that she has a bruised face, bandages covering her nose, chin, and head. She looks at me and whimpers in fear.
"Better be careful~" I say, creepily giggling at her afterwards as I make my way to the exit of the school.
I leave the school, not knowing how to feel. I take one look up at it one last time and raise my hand in the air, flipping off the school, and make my way back home.
When I arrive home I notice my mom arguing with some man outside the house.
"What's going on?" I ask confused.
"We're being evicted!" She states.
"Excuse me!?" I gasp.
"You're being evicted cause you haven't paid your bills in the last 3 months and the police keep getting noise complaints." He states. "You have 3 hours to pack your belongings and leave the property." He continues.
I rush up stairs with al my might, passing Erika's room to see that she's already frantically shoving things into bags. I rush into my room and grab my crossbody bag, and my backpack. I grab all the clothes I have and cram them into my backpack. I brag my wallet with $150, my phone charger, my weed, and my camera, a book, and shove them all into my crossbody bag as best as I can. I rush downstairs along with Erika and meet up with mom outside, already with her bags. More men show up and force us off the property. We stand in the street and stare in disbelief.
"What now?" I ask.
"I have enough money for us to get an apartment, you two will have to share a room though." She says.
"Whatever, lets just go." I say, walking off even though I don't know where we're going.
I guess this opens a new chapter for us in our lives.
