They were on a hunt. Same as usual, Dean and Sam did their research, invaded the warehouse then ganked whatever demon or supernatural being was causing trouble in their town. If any being caused them any trouble, that's where Cas and Gabe come in. Certainly keeping it in the 'family business' with Gabe and Cas being so...personal with their hunters. Neither Dean nor Sam were bothered by their relationships when other people began to stare at their goofy demeanors whenever they went out for dates.

But this hunt was different. Something didn't sit right with the archangel but didn't say anything until it was a little too late. Typical Gabe to say anything too soon or too late. Gabe came along with his trickster powers and million year old knowledge of unknown beings for one hunt many years ago and he's stuck around ever since. Everybody appreciated the archangel sticking around longer than he anticipated but nobody appreciated him sticking around more than Sam.

This hunt was something different for both the younger brother and the archangel. Dean and Cas were off doing their own thing, taking inventory of what they saw in the back rooms while Sam and Gabe had their hands full with finding the right symbols to trap whatever they were hunting.

"Paint?" Sam asked. As if on cue, Gabe handed him a can of spray paint that was a different color than red. The younger hunter rolled his eyes at the neon green cap that indicated the color.

"You asked for paint, I got paint." Gabe said as he shrugged his shoulders. Sam chuckled before shaking the can and getting to work on ancient symbols and sigils.

"Found the cause of all this hullabaloo." Dean said, tossing a hex bag towards Sam who caught it with one hand and examined the markings on the bag. There were definitely signs of witches in the area but Dean and Sam just wanted to make sure and still proceeded with the treatment of the empty warehouse with sigils and symbols, hoping to summon whatever made these hex bags and gank them when they had the chance. The younger hunter stuffed the tiny bag in his pocket to be disposed of properly as soon as he studied the contents of it and burned it.

"That's a new one." Gabe butted in, looking over Sam's shoulder to see new kinds of sigils that even the thousand years old angel hasn't seen. "Looks familiar though. I think I saw a couple books of ancient witching sigils back at the compound. Samsquatch and I will do our research on it."

"And by research, you mean...?" Dean asked, putting two and two together as he implied his younger brother and angel were going to get it on as soon as they got home or at tried to study the sigils on the bag.

"Oh c'mon Dean-o! We're not that horny. At least Sam ain't but I can't speak for myself half the time either." Gabe said, Sam putting his head in his hands as he was about ready to ask to leave for sheer embarrassment. Gabe smirked before standing on his tiptoes and giving him a kiss on the cheek. Sam, now flushed with red-hot embarrassment, was ready to leave as was the rest of the gang.

They were back at the Men of Letters compound as Sam and Dean were well into it with research in the library as Cas and Gabe were in the missions room just across the way. Sam turned his attention to the missions room and watched Gabe thoughtfully scratch his beard before running a hand through his new shortened hair. The younger hunter smiled before turning away with rosy cheeks. Dean noticed his brothers reaction before clearing his throat and grabbing his attention.
