"Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Long ago, the four nations lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could stop them, but when the world needed him most, he vanished.

A hundred years passed, and my brother and I discovered the new Avatar, an air bender named Aang. And although his air bending skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to save anyone. But I believe Aang can save the world" Katara says.

Kiri's POV

We arrived at the south pole water tribe village and anchored just inside the village. Then get off the ship with six men to be greeted by the small village. A boy Zuko's age kneels before us ready to defend his village. While I notice no men, just women and children. They must be fighting the war. The boy charged and Zuko deflected him easily sending him into the snow.

Zuko approached a tribe and demands to know where they're hiding the avatar. When no one answered, he grabbed the elder. "He'd be about this age, master of all elements" he states.

"Zuko, you should treat elders with more respect" I state removing his hand from her. I then give her a gentle smile. "Sorry about that" I say returning her to the fourteen year old girl she'd been standing behind. Zuko then shots fire over their heads saying he knows they're hiding him.

The kid from beforelets out another battle cry as he charges toward Zuko. Who ducks under Sokka's wide swing and he goes flying over his head. The kid spins to the side and tosses his boomerang at Zuko who barely manages to miss getting hit. Zuko growls and glares at the boy. One of the village boys tosses to the boy a spear telling him to show no fear.

But Zuko breaks of pieces of the spear with his forearms, pulls the remains of the weapon out of boy's hands. Then pokes him thrice in the head with the blunt end. He falls to the ground as Zuko snaps the spear in two and tosses the pieces to the ground. The boomerang from before strikes Zuko on the back of his helmet with a loud cling; he is momentarily pushed forward by the unexpected blow. Zuko rearranges his helmet and growls at boy. While I try to contain my laugh. Enraged, Zuko readies two fire daggers.

I suddenly hear something sliding on the ice behind me and step to the side. A kid zooms by on a penguin and knocks Zuko off he's feet. This time I let out a slight giggle. Missing what the kid and boy said to each other. The soldiers spread out around the kid as Zuko gets into his fighting stance. The kid sweeps the ground with his staff, showering the soldiers with snow. He then slams the ground with it, sending a rush of snow at Zuko who braces for the impact. While I heat the air around me to evaporate the snow heading my way. After being sprayed with snow, and heating it up so it would melt off, Zuko looks up angrily.

"Looking for me?" the kid asks.

"You're the air bender? You're the Avatar?" Zuko asks shocked. "I've spent years preparing for this encounter. Training, meditating. You're just a child!" he states angrily.

"Well you're just a teenager" I tell him along with the avatar. Zuko launches a series of fire blasts at the avatar. Who defends himself by twirling his staff, dissipating the flames. Zuko fires another blast at Aang, who twirls his staff once again to ward the attack off. But the villagers cower as the flames stream through the air over their heads. The avatar's eye widen in horror at the sight of the frightened villagers and immediately ceases to defend himself.

"If I go with you, will you promise to leave everyone alone?" he asks Zuko.

"No Aang, don't do this" shouts the fourteen year old girl. So that's his name. Zuko nods his head to Aang and one of the soldiers takes his staff.

"Don't worry, Katara. It'll be okay. Take care of Appa for me until I get back" he tells her. Appa must be his flying bison.

"Head a course for the Fire Nation" I order a soldier.

"We're going home" Zuko states as he wraps an arm around me. We board the ship with teh soldiers and avatar. Leaving the village alone.  "This staff will make an excellent gift for my father. I suppose you wouldn't know of fathers, being raised by monks. Take the Avatar to the prison hold and take this to my quarters" he tells father handing him the staff. As two soldiers lead Aang to his cell.

"Hey, you mind taking this to his quarters for me?" he asks me handing the staff.

"Of course father" I say taking the staff. I then head for Zuko's room. Once there I sit and wait for the avatar. No doubt the guards will underestimate him. The first thing he'll do is come looking for his staff. Zuko seemed to of had the same idea as he stands beside the door. Soon we hear the shout that the avatar had escaped and not long after he enters the room.

"Looks like I underestimated you" Zuko tells him. They started to fight. Well Zuko kept blasting Aang with fire while Aang dodged. Aang then grabbed his staff and knocked Zuko around before fleeing the room. "Why didn't you stop him?" Zuko demands annoyed.

"Honestly, it was entertaining seeing you lose to a twelve year old" I say smirking. "Come one, lets go catch him before he leaves the ship" I state leaving the room. Zuko caught Aang as he tried to fly away and they fall onto the deck. I just sit on the railing and watch. We suddenly hear a grunting sound and look up to the sky.

"What is that?" Zuko asks aloud.

"A flying bison" I say absentmindedly as Miko jumps onto my lap.

"Appa!" Aang shouts with joy. Guess I was right before. He turns around to face Zuko and manages to deflect fire blast. However, he propels himself by accident into the air and lands on the ledge of the deck. Two more blasts are fired his way before he loses his grip on his glider and the object spins away. The staff falls several feet away. Aang ducks, spins and leaps out of the way of blasts and lands on the very ledge, struggling to keep his balance. Zuko hurls more fire blasts his way. Aang holds up his hands in defense, but the last blast seemingly knocks him out cold and he falls backward off the ship into the water.

Suddenlythe ship is overshadowed by the waterspout. Zuko looks up in horror as I notice Aang inside the vortex. His eyes and tattoos still glowing, as he brings his hands around behind his head. The water swirls around him, forming a protective circle, before spreading outward, knocking Zuko and several soldiers off their feet. Zuko falls over the edge and shouts in surprise.

"Zuko!" I shout jumping down onto deck holding Miko. I notice him start to climb up but the water tribe boy poked him with Aang's staff. Forcing him over again, but he latches onto the anchor chain. I run over and help him back up as the bison flies away. With the avatar and his two water tribe friends.

"Shot them down!" Zuko shouts scaring Miko who runs back inside the ship. We both shot a massive fire ball is shot at the bison. But Aanguses a powerful swipe of air to redirect the fireball into a nearby cliff side. The impact causes an avalanche of snow and ice to begin falling. Zuko who looks up in horror at the event, before covering protectively. The front of the ship becomes buried in a mass of snow and ice.

"Good news for the Fire Lord. The Fire Nation's greatest threat is just a little kid" Dad states.

"That kid father, just did this" I tell him pointing to the avalanche we're buried in.

"I won't underestimate him again. Dig the ship out and follow them!" he shouts to the crew. Then realizes they're trying to unfreeze three soldiers carefully. "As soon as you're done with that" he adds before looking in the direction the bison went.

"We'll get him next time for sure, and then we can finally go home" I tell Zuko smiling. He nods his head in agreement and I go help unfreeze the soldiers.
