Riley's POV
We are finally in the car about to take off to the field but it's kinda awkward. Lucas is staring at maya with an unpleasant look on his face. Maya is staring at my feet with a thinky look. Farkle is staring at the back of my dads head. My dad is driving. And my mom is texting me about Lucas which I'm not answering.
We finally pulled over into the field.
We got out of the van and opened the trunk. I grabbed the jump ropes. Lucas grabbed the kites. Maya grabbed the soccer ball and the net. Farkle grabbed the blankets and the filled water guns. Dad grabbed the ice chest and mom grabbed the hula hoops. We laid out the pick nick stuff and ate lunch.
Maya's POV
Okay so it's strange. I had to sit next to Lucas in the car and now I have to sit with him while we eat.
I decided to get up and show off my gymnastic skills.
I did a front hand spring and my bracelet flew across the highway. That was my moms. I have to go get it so ran out infront of the cars and grabbed it.
I heard a car horn and saw Riley running to push me out of the way and she did.
But she tripped on her foot and fell and a car hit her. I screamed her name and so did everybody else. Then I heard farkle scream my name. I looked and saw a car coming at me so I bet my knees and jumped holding my breath. I saw that I landed on the hood of the car
Maya- call 911
Lucas ran over to her and I started thinking about what happened earlier. I heard him mutter something under his breath and then I fell off the car.
Lucas's POV
I ran over to Riley. She looked so helpless. Her limp body pail but I could see how she was barely breathing.
Lucas- (muttered) please wake up ri. I love you so...
I was knocked out of my thoughts by a thump. I looked over and saw maya on the ground grabbing her head.
I heard sirens and watched as they put my baby in the hospital bed.
