Chapter 7

Omg thank you everyone for the positive feed back! i got 2 reads in 3 minutes thats amazing and 15 in one day! I love the suport and im starting school soon but i'm ganna try to update as much as posible. also i got a puppy! its a pug named jasmine and shes so cute! i got her today and i love her. again thsnk you all.

Once we reach the towns square of the Capital our train comes to a stop. I can hear the citezens outside cheering at the sight of our train. The atmosphere between everyone is still tense after my incident with the knife. To lighten the mood I crack a joke about the roudiness of the people only to recive a glare from Effie. I guess she doesn't appreciate District humour.

I sigh and walk towords the window next to Peeta and look out to the people. They are all dressed in crazy outfits consisting of big hats, patterned silk scarves, and obnoxiouly bright garmets. Each person is a diffrent shade of neon. The colors here seem so fake and artificial, nothing like the beauty of a flower or a rainbow, or my lake.

After we get off the train we are swarmed with interviewers asking us milloins of questions at once. People with cameras ressembling bugs follow our every move and everyone's cheering and shouting questions. My anxiety kicks in and I can feel my heart racing and my breath slowing. The colors are spinning around me and i'm starting to feel dizzy. Then a warm strong hand grabs mine and steadies myself.

I look up at its owner and see it is Peeta. That warm feeling that occured when our hands touched at the reaping fills my body again I just stare at him confused. What is he doing?

"Come on Nikki." he says. "Haymitch and Effie are over here." He pulls me through the crowd smiling occasionally and saying a polite hello to the people. I just follow him like a lost puppy. I'm so not good under pressure and usually end up saying something stupid.

Once we reach Effie and Haymitch, Peeta releases my hand and it stays there longing for his again. We're lead into a tall building that shines in the late morning sun. This is the training center; our home until we are sent into the games.

Once in the training center we head for a glass box called an elevator. Effie explains to us that each district has their own floor.

"This means you two get the penthouse!" she exclaims. She presses the 12 button and the box moves upword, the people below shrinking as we get higher. The elevator finally stops at the 12th floor and the doors open.

We step out and I can't believe my eyes. I thought the train was amazing well this is even more extravagent. A dining room with lime green chairs and a long glass table sits next to the living room with soft red couches and a huge flatscreen tv over a big fire place.

Effie brings me to my room and tells me that dinner will be served in an hour. I walk in and see an ordinary room. Nothing too speacial about it. Dark navy walls and charcoal gray carpet with a white bed and one window next to it.

Being in this room gives me the chills. it has an eerie feel and makes me clastrophobic. I see a closet on the left wall and open it seeing tens of diffrent outfits. I rub some fabrics between my fingers and admire the silks, cottons, and wools.

I close the closet and walk into the bathroom. It's white and bright like the one on the train but unlike that bathroom this shower is doubled the size. I take my clothes off and step in. The buttons are pretty much the same as before so I turn the water on a nice tempature and wash my hair and body with diffrent scents.

After I'm done with my shower i put on a pair of black pants and a purple t shirt and leave my hair alone. I walk out of my room and into the dining room where Effie and Peeta sits. Haymitch is no where to be seen.

I take a seat as usual next to Peeta wanting to be close to his warm glow he gives off. He really is perfect. I find myself again staring at his eyelashes. They're so perfect. Dark black at the start and extend out curling at the blonde part. I watch as he blinks the tips hitting his face. I could stare at them forever.

"Nicholina!" the shrillness of Effie's voice brings me back to reality.

"What?" I say confused. I look over and see Haymitch is sitting down. When did he get here? He looks at me with an ammused smile on his face. Did he notcie me drooling over tose eyelashes? Did Peeta?

"I said how do you like you living space?" Effie says.

"Oh!" i blurt "Yeah it's great." Effie lookies at me concerneds but dismisses it when an avox brings the food out. An avox is a traitor to the Capital. Their tounges are cut out and hair dyed bright red forever to serve the Capital as slaves.

I pile the food on my plate. It's warm and delicious I don;t even bother to ask what it's called.

"So you two." Haymitch says breaking the silence. "What do you want to do about training?"

"What do you mean?" Peeta questions.

"Well would you like to be trained together or sepratley? You know in case you have a hidden talent you'd like to hide from the other." He's staring directly at me hinting.

Peeta looks at me. "No" i say "I don't have any 'hidden talents' actually I have no talents." I admit.

"Oh really?" Haymitch says staring me down. I know he is refering to when i stabbed him to the wall but I don't bring it up.

"Really." I say with a smirk. Peeta looks uncomfterble. "Yeah you can train us together." he says.

Haymitch breaks eye contact with me.

"Alright then." he sighs. "We begin in the morning."

Ok so I know this is really bad and boring but I needed a filler chapter to get to the real good stuff. I just wanna thank you all so much for pushing me to do this. I really feel like I can be myself on here. again my goal is 100 reads I'm at 72 right now so please please please spread this around! :)
