"Ash!...Ash, let's go!" My brother, Ash, the slowest person alive. We've been late to school so many times this month. It drives me insane. I place the floor waiting on him. My twin and I are nothing alike.
Ash is unpredictable, he's always looking for fun and can never sit still. I, on the other hand, prefer order and I don't like change. I like to know what's coming. I don't understand how we're related at all. Not only are our characteristics different, but so are our looks.
My hair is jet black and I have deep brown almost black eyes. Ash has snow white hair with eyes the color of a summer sky. He runs down the steps, laughing. He knows tardiness drives me crazy.
"Let's go, Avery. Why are you always so slow?" Smartass, I think as I follow him out the door. We run to the bus and barely catch it. We're both seniors and it is so close to graduation. I'm so excited to go off to college and start my life.
The ride to school takes awhile. Stop after stop, people get on and people get off. I tap my foot trying to be patient. I don't want to be late again. Our last stop before school a man gets on. He's so handsome, but he terrifies me for no reason.
Ash feels me tense and asks me what's wrong. I brush him off telling him I'm just impatient. The man smiles at me as he passes our seat causing me to shiver.
When our the bus stops at our school I leap out the seat and run. Ash sprints to catch up to me.
"What is going on Avery?"
I don't answer. I just stare at the man, who is watching me, laughing at me. Ash follows my gaze.
"Do you know him?"
"No, come on. I really don't want to be late Ash," I whisper. We run to our homeroom and the bell rings as soon as I sling myself in the my desk. I look at Ash who I'd looking at me with concern. I give him a smile to reassure him. It works. He smiles and starts cutting up immediately. Ash, his unpredictability never let's you down.
