You believe this is a game,

and you may be right.

But if you think you can

play it better than me, think

"I already told you, the apartment just doesn't— feel right."

"Well, have you asked your roommate? What does she think?" my mom asked.

"Taylor thinks it's just fine, but she's not the one who's had the same nightmare four nights in a row," I said. At the mention of her name, Taylor peeked out of her room, raising an eyebrow.

I could hear my mom sigh on the other end of the phone. "Honey, I think you're just nervous, going from a community college to the full thing is a huge step up. Give it time, I promise you that you'll feel better," my mom said. "Love you."

"Love you, too, Mom. Bye." I hung up the phone, letting out a long sigh.

"Mama (L/N)'s blamin' it on nerves, huh?" Taylor asked, leaning the wall with her arms crossed.

"Yep."

"I'm not saying she's right or anything, but I would have awful nightmares the week before an exam 'cause I was so stressed about passing," Taylor said.

"Yeah, I remember," I said. "You'd call me in the middle of the night and—"

A phone started buzzing. Taylor reached into her back pocket, and, upon seeing the contact name, her face lit up. "I'm so sorry, (Y/N)," she said. "Lauren is finally calling me back. You remember Lauren, right?"

"Wasn't she your Tinder date last week?" I asked.

"Yeppers," she said, answering the call and walking back into her room.

Rolling my eyes, I wandered back to my room. It was a little cramped compared to my room back home, but at least it had a desk for me to sit at and browse YouTube. Since it was also my first week at the campus, I had yet to fully unpack everything, so a pile of boxes was currently the decoration for the corner of my room.

Sighing, I sat down at my desk, turning on my laptop. Since it was a couple years older than most laptops, it took a little bit longer to load up which gave me plenty of time to admire its dusty screen. Once it finished booting up, I logged in, revealing my Jacksepticeye wallpaper. Not missing a beat, I clicked on the Internet browser and searched up YouTube.

I scanned the YouTube homepage until my eyes landed on a new video posted by Jacksepticeye. "Cool, I'm a little bit earlier this time. He posted it only an hour ago," I whispered to myself. Usually, I missed his videos by about three hours.

Before I clicked on the video, I checked my Twitter to see if anyone else had posted anything. Scrolling down, I didn't see anything noteworthy. I went to close the tab when my direct messages lit up.

"Huh?"

I wasn't very active on my Twitter, so I didn't usually receive messages on there. I clicked on my messages and saw that I had gotten a message from someone called "jackaboyfan69." I contained a giggle.

jackaboyfan69: hey! I'm kinda new to the jacksepticeye community and you looked nice :)

It was probably from some kid who just discovered Sean. What was the harm in replying?

cookiesandmilk: Welcome! :D

Though I kept the Twitter tab open, I went to go watch Sean's new video.

jackaboyfan69 is typing...
