Chapter 3

Kellina POV

The meeting consisted of my dad and I standing against the back wall listening and whispering to each other while the Alpha's discussed an alliance, there was even talk of combining the packs. "Respectfully brother, would combining the packs be beneficial? The rogues would target more of us, and you would have to either fight to stay Alpha, or one of you would have to step down." My uncle looks at my dad in shock for interrupting the two alphas but stayed silent as he gave some thought to the situation. "Brother, I understand your concern, however if we went forward with combining our packs I would happily step down and let our young guest here lead the combined packs." I look at my uncle, my father and I sharing the same shocked expressions. "You- You'd step down?" My voice comes out in a squeak. Cameron and Britton seem to be in shock as well and say nothing, and uncle nods. "I have had a good reign with a good pack. However we have not concluded our discussion, and I have not decided to give up my pack yet." "We will make no rash decisions tonight Alpha Connery, the Bloodsong pack will offer aid, if after the rogues have been taken care of we will discuss combination. We will lend our pack members to help defend the borders, but patrols will be around both of our land now instead of just yours. Also we will help you train, each wolf must be able to at least defend themselves, I will personally train your highest ranks with the help of Britton. That includes their families." Cameron looks pointedly at me, and I feel my cheeks flush.

We shuffle out of uncle's office and and my dad walks in front of me to the foyer, Cameron is right behind me. His hand brushes my arm and tingles spread down to my hand. "It was nice to meet you, Kelli." His breath brushes my ear and I feel like the oxygen was sucked right out of my body. "It was nice to meet you as well, Alpha Adams." I hear a little rumble and it sounds like his stomach growling. I walk a little faster as we reach the entrance of the foyer, and I see my mother sitting on the couch with a glass of wine, and the rest of the Bloodsingers that came to dinner wrestling in the corner of the room. "Boys, really?" Britton spits out as Cameron hides a smile behind a scowl. The boys all stop so fast someone could have just hit pause on a movie, my mom was laughing behind her cup. My dad gave my mom a kiss on the forehead, and she stood up so we could leave.

"Are you ready sweetheart?" My mother nods and smiles at my dad. "Have a wonderful night, Kelli. I look forward to seeing you again." Cameron stands in front of me with a huge smile on his face, and his hand out for me to shake. My cheeks flush again and I look at his hand, "Yes, have a good night, Alpha." I tentatively shake his hand and sparks shoot up my arm, warming my whole body. I can feel my wolf purring and frankly I have to agree, its a nice feeling. I snag my hand back as quickly as possible and look at the floor again. "Kelli, lets go honey!" I immediately go to my father and follow them out of the house.

We pull up to our house and see the lights through the windows, so Terri is still awake. We all walk in the house together and Terri looks up at us from the couch. "Well howdy strangers! How did the meeting go? I had to feed myself you know. That was just not even fair." I laugh and my mom scolds my brother, "good night you guys, I am worn out." Dad hugs me and mom just says goodnight, Terri gets up and says goodnight to them as well. He knows me too well.

I go up the stairs to my room and leave the door open for Terri, just as I sit at my desk he comes in and sits on my bed. "What happened sis?" His voice is laced with concern, and I just look at him. "I think you were right. I think it was my mate, and I'm pretty sure its Alpha Adams." "Bloodsong pack alpha? Thats crazy sis, why do you think its him?" I shrug, I don't really want to sound all sappy and girly. "He just.. Watched me, all night. He touched my arm and I swear to the Moon Goddess that my whole body caught on fire." He laughs and shakes his head at me, like I just told him the funniest joke ever. "What?" I glare at him, "you just sounded like such a girl!" He's laughing so hard his body is rocking.
