"Dude, turn that down a bit, okay?" Sam Winchester said, covering his ears.
Dean smirked, turning down the classic rock radio station down a notch.
The two hunters had just finished a werewolf job in a small town in the mountains of Arizona and were now driving to who-knows-where on a small backroad leading to the interstate. It was about midday, the sun blazed over their heads and Dean kept telling his brother that they should buy some sunglasses for emergencies like these.
Sam chuckled and gazed out the window, all seemed peaceful. But in a hunter's life, how long could that last?
After a few minutes of driving Dean slammed on the brakes suddenly, the Impala's tires screeching on the asphalt. "I'm sorry, baby." He whispered, stroking the car's dashboard.
Sam and Dean opened the doors and stepped out. In front of the car, in the middle of the road stood a blue box. It had white windows and a sign that read "POLICE PUBLIC CALL BOX" on the top.
Dean squinted at the sign, the sun blinding him a bit. "What's a police public call box?"
Sam looked at Dean, sighing. "A police public call box, from the 1950's?" He sighed when he saw that Dean still didn't understand. "They were mostly used in England. Someone could just throw a criminal in one of these boxes and call the police to come pick them up." Sam explained.
"Nerd." Dean said under his breath. He walked up to the box and tapped on the door. "Hello, anyone home?" He grinned, looking at Sam.
But to both of the brother's surprise, the door did open, and a man stepped out, followed by a girl.
The man had brown eyes and messy brown hair sticking in all directions, a confused look on his face when he saw Sam and Dean. He wore a brown pinstriped suit, cream converse and a long brown trench coat.
The girl had straight blonde hair, touching her shoulders and dark brown eyes much like the man's. She wore a pink t-shirt, along with white pants and a pair of white sneakers.
Sam and Dean each took a step away from the mysterious box and the two people who emerged from it.
The man took a step forward, stuffing his hands in his pockets and standing on his tiptoes to see the Impala. He looked behind him to see the box in the middle of the road. He seemed to have grasped the situation now. He turned to his lady friend. "This isn't Hawaii, is it?" He spoke with a British accent.
The blonde-haired girl grinned. "No, but we could always just leave and try again, trying to get to Hawaii, yeah?"
That sent both of them into a fit of giggles.
Sam sighed, interrupting them. "Okay who are you, and how did that police box get into the middle of the road?" He asked them.
"Magic!" The girl said. "An evil spell, right Doctor?" She grinned, still laughing a bit, obviously this was an inside joke.
At the word magic, Dean pulled out his pistol and pointed it at the two people. "You two are witches then?" He growled.
The man and girl immediately put their hands up. "Ah...gun. No we're not witches and it was just an inside joke, honestly. That box-" He pointed back to it. "-Is just science and mechanics. Now put that thing down, please!"
Sam looked skeptical. "Who are you?" He repeated.
"Ah right! Sorry. I'm the Doctor and this is my companion, Rose Tyler." The man said, wiggling his fingers in greeting. Dean kept his gun fixed on them, still not trusting them.
"Um...mind telling us where we are? And the year?" Rose asked, scratching the back of her head and looking around.
Sam and Dean exchanged looks. "2011, you're in the middle of nowhere in the state of Arizona." Dean said, putting his gun down, but keeping it close in case they tried something.
