Dipper's P.O.V

- - -

And she left.

We just arrived, and she's already out in who-knows-where. I sigh. Finding her could take a while. I know for sure she's somewhere out in the woods, but the problem is I don't know where that somewhere could be.

Believe me, I understand why she just goes off like that, but she needs to tell me where she goes. It's not safe. Whenever I tell her that, she just explodes. "You're not dad!" I mimic her. "You don't tell me what to do! You're literally trying to get yourself killed."

I am immediately greeted with the warmness of the outside when I open the door. The woods are just behind the Shack, you just need to be a little further in to be in the woods. Mabel knows better than to go beyond a little further. That's good.

I walk along the path leading into the mess of trees. It's really not that hard to get lost in here, but Mabel and I know this place well. We only got lost a few times, but we found our way out ourselves.

I can already hear the sound of crickets and bird chirps. I know I'm getting close to her. "Mabel?" I call out. "It's me, Dipper."

No answer. Of course.

I stop walking. "Mabel, I'm not here to take you back home, I'm here to accompany you." I say as loud as I can. "For God's sake, Mabel, at least say something."

"Uh-um, hello?"

I look around, searching for the owner of that voice. It certainly wasn't Mabel, but this was a girl's voice. "Who's there?"

Silence.

But out of the bushes walk out a little blue haired girl. Her matching blue eyes stare back at me. She looks unsure, frightened. I feel the same way. What girl her age dyes her hair blue? Where are her parents? "Who are you?" I ask her.

"My name is Blue."

How ironic.

"Hi, I'm Dipper," I say, putting my hand out for her to shake. She looks at it, and shakes it slowly. I manage a small smile on my face. "Tell me, when and how did you end up here?"

"That's the thing I've been trying to solve here, I don't know."

I look around, expecting a sibling or relative to interrupt this conversation, relieved that they've found their family member. But after several seconds of shifting my head left to right repeatedly, the girl says, "What are you doing? I'm an orphan, I don't have a family. Nobody's looking for me."

"Excuse me?" I look at her in disbelief. These abnormal things happen so often to me when I'm here, I doubt that what she said was just a coincidence. Did she just read my mind?

I shake the thought away. My point of coming here was to look for Mabel, not to meet up with some kid with blue hair. "Okay, little girl, listen up. Have you seen my sister? She looks a bit like me, uh, we're twins."

Blue glances to her left. "Does your sister sing?"

"Um, yes?" I answer her irrelevant question.

"I heard some singing from over there," she points to her left. "A little farther in these woods. Nice singing."

That's her.

I get up on my feet, and so does she. I let her tag along, and while we walk, I ask her how old she is. "My guess is around eight, nine?" I say.

She shakes her head. "Wrong. Eleven."

"You seem pretty small for an eleven year old." I say flatly. She gives me a look, did I say something offensive? "Sorry. I meant, most eleven year old kids are bigger."

She shrugs. "I'm not like most eleven year old kids."

"I see that."

There's a pretty awkward silence. I try to clear it out by asking her where she lives.

"Not here."

This kid seems suspicious. I feel different vibes around her. There's a sense of loneliness, a sense of curiosity and a sense of danger. But then again, she could just be some kid going through that emo phase earlier than most kids her age.

I hear subtle humming, not that far from where we are.

The humming becomes louder, and in moments, I can see my sister sitting on a wooden log, making something with what I think is grass. "Mabel?" I say, not too loud to make her jump.

She looks at me over her shoulder, then gives a sly grin. She notices Blue behind me, and she raises an eyebrow.

"Hi." Mabel says, turning to face us. "You took long enough, dearest brother."

I scoff. "If you hadn't went in this deep, I wouldn't have a problem searching for you, would I?"

She smiles, then shifts her eyes to the tiny person beside me. "And who is this?"

"I'm Blue." She says. There's a short silence, then she quickly adds in, "No, not the expression, that's my actual name."

Mabel looks at me, confused. I raise both my eyebrows and purse my lips, sending the message ''yep, that's literally what she's called'' to her.

"Well, hi. I'm Mabel," she says, giving her a friendly grin. She looks down at her creation, which I recognize as a flower crown, and then hands it out to her. "Nice to meet you."

Blue smiles a little, and takes the flower crown from her. "Nice to meet you, Mabel." She suddenly puts her palm to her head as if she was in pain. "Oh God, I have to go, thanks for the company though--"

"Where exactly are you going?" I interrupt her. "Didn't you say you weren't from here?"

She shrugs, her palm still glued on her forehead. "I just really need to go. But believe me when I say this; I will come back."

Blue runs off, leaving us speechless.

Who exactly is this kid?
