Over the next few weeks, Mickey had been keeping a very close eye on Izzy, having her skip that party, giving the two time to reconnect as well. He even had her stay home a few days to make sure she would be okay on her own at school. As the days went by, that awkward tension between the two of them slowly began to fade and before they knew it, it was like old times all over again. As much as Izzy didn't want to stop her dangerous behavior, she saw no reason to have to continue it, and left her blades under her bed, deciding to keep them for a rainy day. She was starting to get back to her old self a little, but it didn't mean she was exactly the same. There were still the occasional panic attacks from not being able to deal with things and fights over her wanting to go back to her old ways, but with enought time, she was able to make peace with it and be somewhat okay and happy. She couldn't help it, she loved her brother too much to have to lie to him about something this serious.
While the two siblings were enjoying their bonding time, the eldest of the Stevens siblings, Katie, was having problems of her own with her boyfriend, Leo, in Europe. She wanted to possibly move back home, which he did not approve of at all. He wanted her to marry him and be a housewife, which she wanted no part of. This caused problems between the two and Leo let his temper get the best of him, leaving Katie feelimg unsafe in tbe environment and booking the first flight back home she could get after calling her mother to let her know she would be back. She knew she couldn't tell her family about this so she figured she could make up an excuse for why she was coming back once she got there.
Present:
Izzy and Mickey were hanging out in her room, her working on homework and him applying for some jobs while helping her every now and then, when they heard their mother call for them.
"Kids! Come down here please!"
"Coming mom!" they both hollered in unison laughing soon after before heading down to the kitchen, where their mother sat at the table along woth their grandmother.
"So Katie called last night saying she's coming back home for good!" she spoke excitedly, unaware or her eldest daughter's situation.
"Great!" Mickey responded cheerfully.
"Yeah. Awesome," Izzy spoke in a rather dull tone.
She loved her sister, she really did. It was just hard for her to think that her sister didn't care about her, which was far from the truth, but she didn't know that. Usually when someone ignores one most their life, it tends to have that kind of effect on them.
"Isabelle, do you have an issue with this," her mother spoke in a direct manner.
"No. Not at all. It's great really," she spoke, plastering on a fake smile.
"Great. Then it's settled. Izzy, I'm afraid you're going to have to move all that junk from Kate's room sweetie."
"But where am I supposed to keep it all?"
"It's just junk, throw it out."
"Catherine Stevens! I raised you better than to be so unsympathetic towards your own flesh and blood."
"No it's fine grandma. I'm used to it. I can see where the stubbornness in our family comes from," she spoke before leaving the table, going up to her room, slamming the door shut.
"Was that really necessary mom?" Mickey questioned his mother rather harshly.
"Hey. Don't take that tone with me young man. It's just a bunch of useless crap she's kept in that room since middle school. It's not even hers, shouldn't be such a big deal. You know how over dramatic she can be."
