Veronica's POV

It's been two weeks since I have moved in with the Hudson residents. I haven't yet started school but I have talked to Marie and Jordan about it. Due to it nearly being the middle of second semester, there was no use on me starting so we decided that I would start my senior year with Sam and Axel next year.

I'm excited and nervous about my final year. It's going to be even better because I will have friends with me to share the year with. Back in New York, I would have never gotten the opportunity to share a year with friends around me, unless some miracle happened. Thankfully I don't have to live through that anymore.

Within the two weeks, I have been hanging around with Sam when she wasn't at school and also getting to know Naomi and Cecilia during this time. Naomi and Cecilia never mentioned the café incident so I am glad that they aren't pushing me what it was about. The two and Sam have made me realise what I have been missing out on back in New York, the friendships and whatnot.

During this time, I have also been ignoring Axel. Not that he cares anyways. I can't get myself to talk to him after calling me a druggo. The only times I really see him is at the dinner table and sometimes around the house. He is always going out to meet that Aubrey girl or the boys so he is ever hardly here.

"Do you think she is dead?" a little girl voice wakes me up from my slumber but due to my body not waking up, I lie still with my eyes closed. I know who it is but I want to play a joke with them. I hear a small scoff and I try my hardest to not laugh. "No. She is breathing. See?" The other child says. A small hand settles on my stomach and raises up and down with my breathing.

Within that touch, I wake and startled to the two children in my room. I laugh at their reaction, big eyes and opened mouths.

Stella and Atticus are six-year-old twins and I think they are the most adorable six-year-old kids I have ever met. They are so funny, especially when it comes to trying new tasks and they have that cute six-year-old speech. They are also inseparable. Every time I see one, the other is next to them. They are really like two peas in a pod, just like Alilah and myself before she died.

"Stel and Atti, I told you guys not to wake up Veronica." Sam comes in from my door and she groans in annoyance at her younger siblings. "Sowwy." They both mumble as they put their heads down in shame. I don't miss the pouts on their faces as well. I really don't like it when they are upset, they deserve to be happy.

"Sam, it's all good. I was awake, anyways." I lied, wanting to see the smiles on their faces once again. "Hello Stella and Atticus." I smile. They step closer to the bed and look down at me with the biggest smiles. "We have to go with mummy to do some gwoceries. So, we came to let you know and say goodbye." Atticus explains. "Okay, have fun and get a lot of good food." I laugh, ruffing both of their hairs. They giggle that six-year-old giggle and both run off.

"Morning, Sam." I yawn and rubbing my eyes to get the sleep crust out of my eyes. "Morning? It's actually afternoon." Sam laughs while shaking her head. I am happy I amuse her. My eyes widen and I look over at my alarm clock.

One thirty-seven pm.

How did I sleep for this long?! I have always liked sleep ins but I never stayed in bed after eight most mornings, maybe nine. So, sleeping for an extra four to five hours is a new record for me. "Oh, well, good afternoon." I say sarcastically, chuckling a bit.

"Hey, I have to do a task for mum and then we can have a day at home today. Just watching movies and eat a whole load of junk food. While I am helping mum, just get dressed and we will meet in the living room." Sam explains enthusiastically, jumping on the heels of her feet. I nod in agreement and smile. She jogs out of the door, leaving me on my own.
