We ended up remaining in front of the shelf for twenty more minutes, me trying to explain to him what gay porn mags tended to do (not that I had that much of experience, honestly speaking) and why we should be leaving soon while Blake continuously posed more uncomfortable questions to a closet gay before declaring that he needed to do more research to ensure our 'healthy relationship' and 'healthy lifestyle'. Holy. Bananas.
"Any recommendations? Or should I consult the internet—"
"No! Nonono," I grabbed his shoulders at once, which was kinda weird because I had to reach up a little. "Everything but the internet. God knows what wikihow's doing to young gay couples... i-it's just not a good place to look. Honestly, I've always thought it was better to ask someone with experience, rather than look to the internet for false information."
Blake seemed to consider this with genuine and sincere interest, scaring me for a good minute or two. "Experience?"
"Uh..." I sorted through my pile of brain, searching for another human being I'd known who was interested in men. No surprises there; I wasn't in close contact with any of my friends in high school (did Ace ever have friends? Ha. Ha), let alone friends who were gay, unless... "Chip?"
He looked at me as though I'd gone insane. "Chip Honeycutt? The literal strawberry?"
"I-I mean, um. Okay yeah, that was a dumb move," I cleared my throat. "I mean, Chip clearly isn't someone who's had lots of experience. He's probably only ever done it with Xander and I'm not even sure if they've done it before since they only just started meeting again after—how many years, did you say?—unless they like, did it when they were in high school which uh, is kind of possible but..."
Blake was not having the imaginary experience. He raised a hand to stop me from speaking. "I don't want images of my best friend having sex in my head, Ace. Shut up now."
