After arriving Louis was aware he had to speak to the owner of the pub. However he was unaware of where to find him.
He called over a barista on duty, "excuse me sir."
The barista raised his eyebrows and made his way over to the brunette; leaning over the counter.
"What can I get ya?" He was chewing his gum loudly and squinting his eyes in interest.
"I want to speak to the person... Who owns this place?" Louis seemed unsure of his own request.
The man raised his eyebrows in confusion. "The boss huh?" He scooted away from the counter and shrugged his shoulders. "Sorry man, can't help you"
Louis looked at the man confused. What the hell did he mean he can't help him? Didn't he know the man who hired him? Louis shook his head incredulously before jumping over the counter and heading into the staff room.
"Hey bro you can't go in there." The barista's American accent rang through Louis' ears and he found it extremely irritating.
"Well bro" Louis mocked, "if you can't help me, I'll help myself."
"I can't let you do that." The man walked nearer and suddenly Louis regretted his rash decision.
"What's going on." Both men turned to meet the presence of Niall. "Louis? What the hell are you doing here?"
Louis opened his mouth to say something but the staff room door swung open to reveal a tall male. He wore a fancy suit and a tag that read 'Paul Higgins, Management.'"
"What's all the noise about out here!?" Paul's voice boomed with dominance.
"Sorry Paul but this dumbass-"
"Excuse me you lousy excuse of a barista but I believe the only dumbass here is you." Louis snapped and glared at the American.
"You son of-"
"Enough!" Paul erupted. "Mark get your lousy ass back to work, I will deal with this!"
Mark looked offended and slowly backed away; staring Louis down.
"Told you, you were lousy." The brunette directed to Mark then examined his nails.
"I've heard enough from you." Paul pointed at Louis then turned his gaze to Niall. "Now you, tell me what the hell is going on."
"I uh- I don't really even know." Niall chuckled nervously, obviously intimidated by the presence of his boss.
"I.." Louis spoke up and both sets of eyes fell on him. "I only came in here to look for a job." He swallowed hard as Paul narrowed his eyes.
"Can you make drinks?" He questioned.
"Uh-"
"Of course he can't!" Niall intervened.
"Horan do you know this boy?" His boss once again turned his eyesight in his direction.
"I do." Niall nodded firmly, "barely." He added quickly and glanced at Louis' fallen expression.
"I can't make drinks but-"
"Well baristas are all we need right now." Paul shook his head and shrugged. "Sorry kid-"
"No please! I- I can sing." His eyes lit up a tiny bit at Paul's hesitation to completely rid him off.
Paul scratched his chin. "Really..." He paused. "I'd like to hear you."
"N-Now?" Louis wasn't ready.
"No." Paul shook his head. "I give you till tomorrow afternoon. Don't be late"
