sal had left later in the day, the thoughts of what could be in that book still filled his mind.
sally had only a small amount of sleep. he had an idea, if he could find it

out then confront larry he would have to tell sal.

This plan could not go wrong!

he rolled out of bed, put in his glass eye, and mask. he walked out of his room before being met with the pungent smell of alcohol.

he turned to see his dad still sleeping on the couch after drinking the night before.

gizmo rested on his chest, the cat didnt seem to mind the smell.
sally let out a near silent sigh before placing a blanket over his drunken father and writing a note.

'hey dad, i left to hang out with Larry. if I'm not back by night then I'm sleeping over. -sal'

he refilled gizmos water and food before he left.

he once again walked to the elevator, then to Larrys apartment. "heya sal, larrys taking a shower so you can just go to his room." lisa said from the kitchen, she was once again working on the sink.

"okay. thanks lisa." he said walking to larrys bedroom.

he looked around the room, the book was nowhere to be found.

Sal looked under the bed and heard the doorknob turn. He rolled under the bed like a very uncoordinated ninja.

larry walked in the room 'oh god' sal was not ready for what he saw.

a shirtless larry with a towel tossed over his shoulder. the smaller boy noticed the definition in his muscles sals eye traced every line and curve.

'i don't like him he's just a friend.'  sal thought to himself.
larry was looking for something. he looked around before walking over to the bed. he leaned down and looked under it, only to be met with sal two inches from his face.

he sighed grabbed the shirt next to sal and moved away, before slipping it on. sal slowly crawled out from under the bed.

"why were you under my bed?"
"oh, you know. just chilling." sal responded while rocking on his feet, he refused eye contact and swung his arms.

"suurree" he said while rolling his eyes.

it was quiet for a moment.

"why were you actually there?" larry broke the silence.
"i was looking for something." sally knew that if he said anything about the book he would be fucked.

larry seemed to understand that he was not going to get anywhere.

*time skip*

after a few hours of gaming and headbanging, sal left.

"bye dude." sal waved in response. as he walked he couldn't help but to think about what he saw earlier.

the image of a topless larry was stuck in sallys mind. as his face flushed he contemplated his feelings.

he didn't like larry, right?
he decided to go to the one person in the apartments who knew the most about this.

sal walked to the elevator, waited, and went into apartment 202.
he used quick strides when walking past todds parents. he took a deep breath at the door.

he had to be careful with what he said.

"TODD! TEACH ME ABOUT THE GAY!!!" he screeched throwing open the door.

when he looked in the room he saw todd sitting on Neil's lap while he messed with a small gadget. they both looked shocked.

"oh, sorry if I interrupted." sal slowly backed away.

"its fine" todd said readjusting his glasses. neil started laughing.

"what do you need?" todd spoke again.

"I-....how do-...eehhh" sal made incoherent noises in a attempt to talk.

"Take your time" neil said, laughing. Todd lightly punched his arm.

"Take a breath, what's going on?" Todd asked.

".....men?....."
"I knew it! Todd you owe me $10!!"
Todd tolled his eyes "uh huh....is it Larry?"
Silence fell on the bedroom.

Sally went red

"Well just remember: wrap it before you tap it!" Neil said patting sally on the back, and nudging him to the door.
"Go get 'em tiger."

Sal walked out of the room with a red face and a VERY interesting mental image.

But one thing was stuck in his mind.

'What was in that journal?'

*at Larry's apartment because I'm lazy*

No one was home. Sal unlocked the door. He tiptoed quietly to Larry's room. He opened the door.

He quickly searched the room.

He didn't find the book but he did find a sketch book.

The majority were normal; abstract drawings, reference art, and sketches of the group and their findings.

One sketch caught sals eye. It was a drawing of him without his mask. It has hearts around it.

On the bottom was Sally's name written in what he could only assume was Larry's attempt at cursive.

He put the sketchbook away before it brought up more questions.

He walked up the steps. The cold air seemed to whip around him.
The tree house wasn't a very far walk away. He slowly climbed the ladder making sure not to fall.

He looked around the tree house and found nothing.
He decided to look in the chest. Inside he found the stuff that was usually in there: old tickets, a puzzle box, and other memorabilia.

Under some of the stuff in there he found it.

The book looked the same as it did before. The inside seemed like a normal journal. The first two pages were about the demon, the next few were about our findings, the entry's slowly turned into stuff about the group. the last page was torn out. he was hiding something, and sally was going to find out what it was.

he sighed. Sal put the book back and started walking to his apartment.
