Sal pov

the boy was laying in his bed contemplating what had happened, and what he should do next.

in his eyes the world was bleak, unforgiving, and cruel.
what if larry never forgave him?
what if the others hated him for it?
why was the page so important?
what if everyone in the school hated him?

sals thoughts engulfed him as he drifted into a dreamless sleep.

------------------

BEEP..BEEP...BEEP

a loud ringing sounded through the apartment.
"ugh" Sal slammed the alarm clock with one hand while trying to get gizmo off him with the other.

he had to go to school, and he had to talk to Larry. Sal got ready for the day and planned how to talk to Larry, he really didn't want to do this, but he had too.

Larry was his best friend and he couldn't lose him. he'd die if that happened. the brunet meant too much to him.

the walk from addisons to the high school was quiet and seemed to drag on forever.

the weather was dreary, the stares from people were harsher, the roads were stagnant, and he felt more empty than he had in a very long time.
the only thing that seemed to stay the same was the school. it wasn't good in the first place so it couldn't be that much worse, right?

oh how wrong he was...

he walked in and made a b-line to the lockers. Larry wasn't there so the blue haired boy waited.

time dragged on and the first period had started. "ten more minuets" he mumbled, hoping that Larry would show up.

then he heard footsteps.

click..

click...

click....

"Sal"

"Larry"

sally's eyes welled up as he looked at his closest friend. "I'm sorry for what happened, it was stupid and i shouldn't have looked through your stuff. I shouldn't have violated your privacy like that.I don't want to lose a friend over that."

Larry blankly stared at him uttered four words that he would come to regret.

"you're not my friend"

with that, he walked to one of the classrooms. leaving sal to sit there and think about what he had said.

-that night-

Sal had made up his mind.

he sat at his desk writing the last words he would ever say.

it wasn't easy to explain the thoughts in his head or the pain in his heart, he had learned that it was not as simple as just putting pen to paper. but he knew that as long as he wrote something, anything, it would be okay.

he took a deep breath and wrote what he could, he cried as the words were jotted down.

done.

he stood up and walked quickly but quietly out of the apartment and onto the roof, snagging some of his dads pills along the way.

he wanted to go out numb.

he sat on the edge with his mask off.

his feet dangled off the edge and the wind whiped his hair around.

"no going back now" he said to nobody but himself.

he placed the pills in his mouth and swallowed. this was it, he would be out of everyone's hair.

he relaxed as the pills kicked in. it was only a matter of time.

'Click'

he slipped off the edge but could faintly hear someone yell.

"SALLY!!!"

-----------

larrys pov

the tall boy walked to sals apartment to apologize. he knew he was being irrational.

he opened the door "Sal?"

he walked to his bedroom. "Sal?..."

nothing

was that something on the desk?

he picked up the note.

"Travis, once you get away from your family it will get better, you will be okay."

"Tod, i know i give you shit from time to time but you were an amazing friend. don't ever doubt that. make sure to take care of Neil."

"dad, I'm sorry. i hope you'll be okay. make sure to feed gizmo and take care of yourself."

"Larry, I'm so sorry, you mean the world to me. i hope you'll be okay once I'm gone. i just want you to know above all else. I love you dude, more than you will ever realize."

no.

No..

NO!

Larry ran up to the roof shouting for Sal the entire time. fuck the other tenants, he needed to save Sal.

there he was about to fall of the edge.

Larry ran to him as he fell.
