S I X T E E N : i n g e n u i t y ?
We turn now our attention to Historia Reiss, now Christa, and her ongoing dilemmas with her family relationships. So far, it is evident that the mother and child haven't sorted things out, not even one attempt of detangling their knotted and complicated bond. Their connection wasn't smooth. It's alike to a thorny vine. The further you get, the more obstacles you encounter, the thorns getting sharper every inch.Their lives were a dance. Now, it isn't as flowing and intimate as a waltz. It was unpredictable and quick like tarantella.
However, despite the irregularities in the graphs of their moods, Alma had sworn to be better, though left unsaid to her child, making the young one go bitter.
The morning rays of the rising sun gave her eyelids a red after image, her eyes struggling to close them better. The girl's petite calves generated stifled thuds as she kicks about upon her mattress. It's been several weeks since they moved so of course she didn't feel at home. Except every home she had never felt like home.
Maybe if I sleep all day I wouldn't wake up anymore. A thought echoes in her id, making her slowly open her drowsy eyes, drool streamed across her thin, roseate mouth. Pushing her weight up with her palm, she gets up and sits on her bed. But seriously, why expect something different when you know nothing will change, said the inner voice, nothing will change Christa. Her body slumped back to the sheets, releasing an irritated groan upon the realization of some truths. She felt guilty for feeling remorse against against her mother, but at the same time, it seems like she deserved it too. With her slender, petite fingers curling into a fist, a knock breaks through the deafening silence of her mind.
A soft yet cold and stern voice spoke from behind her wooden door. "Historia, you're almost late for school. . . Get up now, hurry."
And that was when as if her shackled, restricted life began to feel natural and fluid. The drowning feeling of living started to feel like breathing.
