Rachel's POV

I was currently lying down on a massage table next to Anna, the masseuse rubbing my back. The lady cracked it, causing me to groan. "I think my masseuse just gave me an orgasm." I laughed.

"You know, I can see why Justin didn't move back to Canada last year." She said. "What?" I said, surprised because I didn't even know he was supposed to come back. "He was supposed to move back and take over the family business. His parents freaked out when he didn't. But, since he's here now, I'm sure all is forgiven." Anna said. "He's not back for good. I mean, we're just here for a wedding." I said, not really sure where she was going with this. "I don't know. Then again, you never know what's going through that gorgeous head of his." She said, causing me to raise an eyebrow. Is she trying to steal him?

"He told you we used to go out, right?" She asked. I shook my head and waited for her to continue speaking. "It's ancient history now. But, both of our families; with the exception of his mother, always wanted us to get married. His mother didn't particularly like me because she thought I wasn't good enough for him. We dated for 4 years. But, since then, I've become more successful and work for her. I'm sure her opinion's changed." She said.

I'm not going to lie. It makes me uncomfortable that Anna dated Justin for 4 years and I had absolutely no idea. When we had the exes talk, he told me that he's never been in a serious relationship before me. If he lied to me about this, I wonder what else he's lied to me about.

"You know what, I really admire you. It takes a lot of strength to come all the way over here and meet your rich boyfriend's family. Especially when Pattie isn't exactly in your corner." She said, laughing. "Justin asked me to come so he could bring me to Ryan's wedding. He wanted me here, so that's why I came." I said. "So you didn't want to meet his family before this?" She asked as an attempt to twist my words. "No, that's not what I meant at all. What I wanted to say was the only reason why Justin came here was so he could go to his best friend's wedding. The fact that I'm here is just a case of he invited me and now I'm here. I mean, he's best friends with my mom. I wanted the same when I met his family, but that clearly didn't happen." I sighed.

"It's okay. I'm sure it'll get better eventually. Otherwise, then you know you tried if it doesn't work out." She said. That sentence made me very upset so I got up from the massage table and put my robe on before running out of the spa area.

When I walked outside, I ran into Jessica, who was talking on the phone. "Rachel?" She said, taking her phone away from her ear. I turned around so she could see how disappointed I was. "Are you okay?" She asked, hanging up the phone on whoever she was talking to. "Um, no." I admitted. "Come on. Let's go back to the hotel." She said, walking over to me and wrapping her arm around me.

"Don't worry about those girls. They're honestly just bitches. Especially Anna. She treated Justin like shit for a whole year before they broke up. She was an extreme gold digger and it was really obvious. Now that she's working for the company, she's trying to get him to see that he made a mistake by breaking up with her." Jessica told me after I told her what Anna said to me. When I walked into my room at the hotel, I was immediately greeted by a bunch of dead cockroaches on my bed with a note on a poster board in big red letters reading 'YOU DESERVE THIS, YOU GOLD DIGGING BITCH'.

"Oh my God." I said, my mouth dropping. "I'll call security." Jessica said, about to leave the room. "No. I don't want to make scene. I don't want to give them the satisfaction." I said, grabbing her arm.

*That Night*

Ashley arranged for all of us to have a party on the beach. However, Jessica and I were digging up all of the dead cockroaches Anna and her friends so kindly left for me in my hotel room.

"You know, I thought I was going to drink some champagne and get a tan on this island. This was the last thing I imagined doing." I giggled. "How can Ashley have friends like this? They're so mean." I sighed. "Well, if you've known someone all your life, you start making excuses for them." She replied. "I'm sure you and Jonathan had to deal with Ashley and her friends at some point. How'd you get through it?" I asked, referring to her husband Jonathan. I haven't seen him since I've been here, but he did come with her when she came to visit Justin in LA a couple months ago.

"We didn't have it quite this bad. But, it wasn't pretty." She replied. "At least tell me it gets better." I said after all of the dead cockroaches were buried in the sand. "Of course it does." She replied and sat down on the blanket she brought out, but I could sense something was wrong. "Are you okay?" I asked, sitting next to her. "Yeah." She replied. I knew she wasn't telling the truth, but I wasn't going to push it since she obviously didn't want to talk about it.

"Actually, no." She said, sighing. "You can talk to me." I said, putting my arm around her. "Jonathan is having an affair. I found a text on his phone from another woman." She sighed again. "I'm really sorry, Jess." I said as she put her head on my shoulder as I tried to comfort her.

The next chapter will be the same day, but from Justin's perspective. In the movie, there is a scene where Constance Wu's character is having a conversation with Henry Golding's character's ex-girlfriend, but it also cuts back and forth to him talking to his friend that's getting married. I wasn't going to do this because it would take a lot of time and would probably be confusing because of the constant switch of POV's. So, I just decided to make it two separate chapters instead.
