Kaycee's POV

It was all over. I never had to see Gabe again.

On the drive home, Sean held my hand tightly. He occasionally looked over at me and asked if I was ok. It felt good to know someone cared. we pulled into the driveway and walked into the house.

"Hungry?" Sean asked.

"Yeah!" I said enthusiastically. I took Sean's hand and lead him to the kitchen. I pulled out a recipe book from one of the cabinets and began to look through it. Sean came from behind me and gave me a bear hug. I giggled and turned around to kiss him. He picked me up and set me on the counter, continuing to kiss me. I smiled against his lips and held his face in my hands. "We're supposed to be making dinner!" I giggled as I pulled away from him.

"That can wait" He said and kissed me again. "After we eat!" I said pulling away from him. I pushed past him and tried to get off the counter, but he picked me up and spun me around. I laughed and gave him one last kiss before giving him a pouty look.

"Fine." he whined and I smiled. We looked through the recipe book together and decided to make salmon and vegetables.

We blasted 2000's music and sang along while we made dinner. Sean occasionally gave me kisses and we would dance around together while making dinner. After about an hour, dinner was ready and we went to the dining room to eat.

we sat down across from each other and I reached out to take Sean's hand. "Thank you for saving me." I said while I looked deeply in his eyes.

"I love you, I'll always be here." he said.

"Promise?" I asked, unsure.

"Always." he said with a smile.

We ate our food, laughing and talking about random stuff before we decided to clean up and go upstairs. We went to our bedroom and layed down, exhausted. We watched friends for awhile before I got up to take a shower. I turned it on and took my clothes off. I looked at myself in the mirror, only to see all of my bruises and scars. I was so insecure about them, but I never really said anything about it. It was stupid anyways.

I finished in the shower and came back out to the bedroom to see Sean scrolling on his phone. I layed down next to him and cuddled against him. He put his phone down and wrapped his arms around me. He kissed my head and pulled me into him tighter.

"When are we gonna tell everyone about us?" I asked.

"When do you want to?" Sean said.

"Well, are you ready to?" I asked him.

"I'm ready if you are." he said.

"I think I am. I just don't want to get, well, attacked." I said.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

"I mean, I just got out of a relationship. What if people think I'm a slut or something." I said nervously.

"Kaycee." Sean said sternly. "No one is going to call you a slut. Don't say that about yourself again. Please." He said calmly.

"Ok. I'm sorry." I said.

"It's ok. You don't have to say your're sorry. You're healing. you're going to be insecure sometimes, but I'm going to be here for you every step of the way." He said softly.

"Thank you. I love you." I said, cuddling into him.

"I love you more." he told me.

And with that, we happily drifted off in each others arms, a new day awaiting.
