Welcome to the Team

"Thanks for this, Sunny, Hyo," Tiffany said as she signed the last release form.

"We'll be keeping an eye on you, Miss Hwang," Sooyoung said. "You're still a person of interest in this case."

"Prove that my client actually received the money from that loan shark or is really able to predict betting scores then maybe we'll talk again, Inspector," Hyoyeon replied coldly – ushering Tiffany away from Sooyoung.

"Must be quite an expensive lawyer," Joonmyun mumbled, coming to stand next to Sooyoung.

The two then saw the Captain approaching one of the three women walking away from them.

"Unnie," Yoona greeted Sunny with a smile.

"Hey, Yoong. Long time no see." Sunny hugged the tall young woman. "Thanks for the call," she whispered.

"Don't thank me. Someone suggested I call you about your friend," Yoona whispered back.

"Oh?" Sunny let go of Yoona. "Who?"

Yoona grinned. "I'll tell you about it some other time. Maybe after all this is over."

"Aish, you and your police business." Sunny playfully hit Yoona's arm.

"Take care of your friend, Unnie, and tell her to take care of herself. I can't say much but that's the best she can do right now."

Sunny nodded. "I understand. Thanks."

Tiffany saw Sunny talking to a tall woman that everyone seemed to avoid. She knew that meant power or position. She decided not to stick around long enough to confirm her assumption. She had had enough of cops. She was emotionally exhausted so all she wanted to do was go home and curl up in her bed.

"Hey, sorry but I gotta run. Got another case I have to work on."

Tiffany turned her head towards Hyoyeon. "It's okay. Thanks for helping me out."

The blond woman smiled. "Thank Soonkyu. Call me if there's anything, okay? And don't say anything to them. I need to be present when they talk to you." Hyoyeon kindly shook Tiffany's hand. "Go home and rest, Tiffany." She then left the station.

"You got one heck of a lawyer there."

Tiffany took a deep breath and exhaled loudly. She turned around. "What's your point, Inspector?"

Yuri smiled. "Just a random comment. Kim Hyoyeon is one of the up and coming criminal lawyers so you're in good hands. Besides, I haven't had the chance to say hello back to you personally."

Tiffany let her guard down a little. "I have nothing to do with any of those people."

"I know that, Miss Hwang. I know that your only reason is the debts, the medical bills." Yuri observed Tiffany carefully. "Your late mother's?"

"With all due respect, Inspector, it's none of your business." Tiffany's guard went up again at the mention of her mother. "Tell that to your short friend who's been staring at me for the past five minutes."

Yuri looked behind Tiffany to see Taeyeon leaning on her desk with her arms folded – watching. She chuckled. "How did you know?"

"I can feel the dagger in her eyes. I think she dislikes me."

"I thought you were the one who disliked her."

Tiffany shrugged. "I'm not exactly fond of arrogant people who think they're better than others."
