Past & Present

"FOOD!"

Chanyeol practically ran towards the table, grabbed a plate and began scooping a mountain of food onto it.

"Slow down, you'll get indigestion!" Yuri scolded Chanyeol.

"I don't care! I'm hungry!" He said through a full mouth.

"How did it go?" Yoona asked Joonmyun.

"The ones who came in seemed innocent. They didn't fidget or act nervous at all. Most had been working with us for a long time," Joonmyun said before putting a chopstick full of rice inside his mouth.

"The ones who came in?" Taeyeon asked. "We're still missing someone?"

Joonmyun nodded. "The uniforms are still trying to find him. He's not at his known address."

Juhyun suddenly walked into the bustling conference room. "Whoa! The food smell!" She grimaced. "Has this room turned into a pantry?"

"For now. The pantry couldn't fit all of us so we moved here. Hungry?" Yoona asked. "Grab a plate and join us."

"Maybe later. I have something to show you." Juhyun went to the laptop and started typing.

Chanyeol and Jongin scooted aside so that they wouldn't block the screen.

"This is the footage from the shooting," Juhyun said.

They all saw the yellow grainy images of a black car being driven at high speed followed by shots and two people falling to the ground.

Tiffany winced.

"This was pulled from the cameras in this area." Juhyun displayed a video of a black car being parked at the side of the street.

"Same car?" Taeyeon asked.

Juhyun nodded. "I think so but with a license plate this time." She zoomed in on the license plate. "I sorted through a month's worth of surveillance footage, skimming through them actually... otherwise I wouldn't be here now..." She typed some more and four different videos were now displayed simultaneously on the screen. "And apparently, there were three different vehicles used to eavesdrop on us. A black SUV, a silver sedan and a black van." Juhyun pointed at three of the four squares on the screen. "It's like they were on shifts."

"Someone's being careful," Jongin mumbled.

"How do you know it's these cars?" Yoona asked.

"They would be parked there all day. No one came out of it but at night, it would drive away."

"Ghost cars!" Chanyeol grinned.

Joonmyun poked Chanyeol's head.

"They're cooped up in there all day? That's gotta be suffocating," Tiffany said.

"The weather's not that bad lately. They'd probably crack open the window a bit, bring food and drinks and since they're men, all they need is a plastic bottle. It's doable," Taeyeon said.

Tiffany looked at Taeyeon. "Okay are you a creepy stalker, Kim Taeyeon?"

Taeyeon grinned. "I've had my share of boring stake-outs, Hwang Miyoung."

"Alone, I hope," Tiffany lowered her voice.

"Why? Does it bother you that I had spent long hours in a small cramped space with someone else?" Taeyeon asked in an even lower voice. She had a smirk on her face.

Sooyoung cleared her throat. "Focus, love birds!"

That startled Taeyeon and Tiffany, making them blush.
