Chapter 3 (Part 5)

Past & Present

"I'll see you later then." Taeyeon pulled the handbrake after the car had been parked neatly at the side of the road. "I'll be back as soon as dinner's over."

"Take your time. I'm sure I'll still be here by the time you finish," Tiffany said while unbuckling her seatbelt. She leaned over and kissed Taeyeon's cheek. "Thank you for the ride." She smiled.

Taeyeon unbuckled her seatbelt in a flash and immediately grabbed Tiffany before she could move away any further. She kissed her gently.

Tiffany smiled when Taeyeon pulled back. "What's that for?"

"I just feel like it." Taeyeon grinned. Her hand stroked Tiffany's cheek before she kissed her again.

Tiffany was about to climb over the handbrake to get to Taeyeon, feeling the need for more contact, when there was a knock on the window behind her.

It startled them both. Taeyeon literally jumped in her seat while Tiffany gasped out loud.

Tiffany sat back down on her seat and saw Sunny looking in, face and hands pressed against the window. She had to laugh. She rolled the window down. "Yah! Privacy, please!"

"I'm trying to run a business here. It's a family restaurant so please take your adult business somewhere else." Sunny then grinned, waving at the blushing Taeyeon before straightening up and walking away.

Tiffany sighed. She closed the window. "Rain check?" She asked Taeyeon, leaning forward for another peck.

"Okay. Don't work too hard." Taeyeon stole another peck, not really willing to let Tiffany go.

Tiffany smiled. "Enough." She stopped Taeyeon from stealing another peck. "At this rate, I will never leave the car." She patted Taeyeon's cheek. "Drive safely and have fun."

Taeyeon nodded. She watched Tiffany get out of the car, approaching Sunny who was waiting a distance away. The two walked inside the restaurant, laughing and talking with each other.

Taeyeon texted Yoona to tell her that she was on her way. She then placed the phone back in its holder before driving away.

"So she's actually out on a date now? Right now?" Taeyeon laughed.

Yoona nodded. "That's what Sunny unnie told me." She sipped her drink.

"Why didn't she tell me? I wouldn't mind giving her permission to leave early so she could go home and prepare for the date," Taeyeon said.

"Probably because she knew that you would only tease her."

Taeyeon chuckled. "That's inevitable. I have to return the favor, don't I? She's been teasing me and Fany from the very start." She happily resumed eating her ice cream.

Yoona's smile started to fade. "How are you two doing anyway?"

Taeyeon stopped eating her dessert. "You've just asked me that earlier today. Is there something wrong?"

"No no. Just wanted to make sure. It seems like everything's going well," Yoona nonchalantly said.

"We're trying." Taeyeon remembered what had happened last week. She still felt guilty every time she remembered it. "I can't believe she's willing to stick with me." She shook her head, putting one last spoonful of ice cream in her mouth. Her thoughts then went to the kiss in the car just two hours ago and she unconsciously smiled.
