Twelve pairs of eyes were currently fixated on me. They were staring and it was making me beyond uncomfortable.

I couldn't even take my eyes off the polished floors to look up at all of them.

"Layna," a soft feminine voice spoke out to me.

I reluctantly looked up to see a woman standing about twenty feet in front of me. My breath was taken away at the sight of her.

I could safely say that she was the most magnificent creature I have ever seen.

Her long, wavy blonde hair was left down, with two thin braids put into a headband formation at the top of her head. The woman was wearing a long-sleeved floor-length white gown that was sheer from the thighs down to the feet. It was covered in elaborate deigns of lace throughout. She had delicate, feminine features and warm blue eyes.

The woman made her way to me quickly and wraped me up in a tight embrace.

I stood there awkwardly not knowing what to do. Eventually, I wrapped my arms around her thin frame and hugged back. I could just tell this woman was loving and kind, and by the way she was acting, I figured that this was my supposed mother.

The woman let go, but put her delicate hands on top of my shoulders and held me out at arm's length, studying me.

I felt horribly under-dressed, and also slightly ugly compared to this beautiful woman.

"Oh my, you are absolutely stunning my dear," she said softy. "Here, have a seat, and then we can talk."

She led me over to her throne which was at one end of the semicircle of the rest. She motioned for me to sit at an unoccupied throne that I did not notice earlier.

I did not dare to look around me at the other Gods and Goddesses, for I was honestly too embarrassed and intimidated. I kept my eyes on the deep blue eyes of the woman next to me.

"Layna, my name is Aphrodite, and I am your mother," she said with a smile radiating off her tan face.

My suspicions were confirmed, so I was not very surprised to receive this information.

"And this," she said, motioning her arm to the man next to her, "is your father, Ares."

Even though this man was my father, I still considered him devastatingly handsome. He had olive skin and strong, rugged, very manly features. Ares had very dark hair, and a faint beard with thick eyebrows.

My father smiled warmly at me and said, "I know you will many questions, but let us explain everything first, and then we can all answer any remaining questions you may have."

I nodded my head and waited for either of them to continue.

"Well, I truthfully do not know where to start," Aphrodite said with a giggle. "This must be outrageous for you, since you were brought up in the human world and did not know what you truly were. Well, you are a Greek Goddess, my dear. As of now, you are in a mortal form, but you will be restored with your immortality in two days at your homecoming ceremony," she informed me.

"There was a prophecy made thousands of years ago," she began, her voice morphing into that of a storyteller's, "stating that a goddess would be born at a time during which the Gods were no longer able to reproduce. We can no longer reproduce now, because the world needs to be in balance; if there were too many of us, chaos would erupt. This said prophecy states that this goddess would be a very important asset to the Gods. She would have powers that no other has, and bring victory to Mount Olympus. However, that is all we know. We do not know the details. For instance, we do not know what her power is, or exactly why she is so important. The only thing that we are sure about, is that the goddess in the prophecy is you, Layna," my mother concluded, leaving me absolutely shocked.
