I turned my face up and watched the over weight white guy sweat and grunt while looking at my water heater. Once he leaned down and half his ass became exposed to me I turned away and gagged a bit.
So far this man has been in my house for two hours telling me five different things were wrong with my house. My stove, my bath tub, my toilet...and now my hot water heater.
"Ma'am...you have a few things wrong, but it's nothing that can't be fixed-" He finally spoke while standing up and trying to pull his pants back up. I sighed and folded my arms across my stomach.
"So when can you get started and how much...Joe?" I asked leaning forward a bit to read his name tag; trying to get straight to the point.
Joe wiped his forehead that left a smudge going across it from how filthy his hands were. I felt myself make a face and quickly straighten up.
"Well ma'am...I don't do the work myself, but from my experience...you're looking at a few grand-" I cut him off with a tight smile and held my hand up.
"I'll be in touch Joe."
–
"A few grand...the fuck you got broken?" My big sister Alana asked me while we pulled up to Home Depot. I expressed how I would rather get a few Mexicans to do the work quick and cheap instead of Joe's Rolly Polly ass and my sister told me I should come here first.
We got out of my mini van and started walking towards the entrance.
"Hell if I know...it's like every room with a pipe he walked into had something broken on it. It started with me smelling gas the other day and ended with my water heater being broke and now I don't have any hot water!" My sister shook her head and patted my shoulder.
"Why is it everything falls apart when the man leaves? I swear that happened when Paul dipped...my roof started leaking." I rolled my eyes and smacked my lips at the mention of my ex.
"First off Alex was never handy...well...he was with a phone to call someone to fix it...look fuck him, I'm going to first ask a few people in here if they could help me and if they can't...I'm going to little Mexico." My sister laughed at my dumb ass and pushed my shoulder.
"That's so racists...besides...you know your nieces are half Mexican-" I sighed at the cool air that hit me as I walked in and looked from side to side before I saw the sign for plumbing.
I looked back at Alana before rolling my eyes and walking towards the aisle and prayed someone could help me.
"Right...and I would be able to go to their father...if he wasn't already married and don't like your ass for keeping the twins." I heard Alana suck her teeth and a stinging on the back of my neck...this bitch plucked me.
"Anyway...oh he's cute." We just turned down the aisle and saw a cute young guy on a computer at the counter. He was helping an older guy with something, but when he looked up and smiled...dear Lord.
I raised a brow and nodded my head. Tall dark and a full beard...nothing like my ex-husband.
Before I could recover, I saw my sister was already standing next to the older gentleman and smiling at the guy.
"Excuse me...can you help my sister and I?" She asked while giving him her flirtatious smile. I sighed and walked up beside her and elbowed her.
"We have to wait our turn Lana-" I mumbled, but the guy beside her looked at us and did a double take.
"Alana...Alana Jenkins?" Both of our heads snapped to the right and we looked at the man.
