Chapter 6

Merritt's POV

I was the first awake and went downstairs to get some coffee. Danny stirred on the sofa and got up to make himself a cup of tea. We spoke for an hour and had some toast but the other two still hadn't woken up. I opened the door and smiled at the sight of the two youngest members of the team.

Annalise had her head on Jack's chest and her arm over him, tucked in neatly to the side of his body. He had one hand cradling her head and the other on her back. I knew both of them had romantic feelings for each other but didn't know the other one felt the same and I didn't want to play Cupid - it was more fun watching them discover their feelings themselves, even though the sexual tension at times was painful to watch because neither one would make a move.

Daniel followed me into the room and scoffed at the sight of them. He quickly snapped a picture of the sleeping pair to tease them later and I shook Jack's shoulder. He groaned and pulled Annalise closer which woke her up. They stared at each other for a second before sitting up and scrambling to get away from each other. Annalise stood up and looked down at her shirt which barely covered her. She darted to the door but Daniel was teasing her by blocking the way and she had to push him to get past and lock the bathroom door.

Daniel and I were laughing but Jack was red and glared at us.
"So, you and Small Fry, eh?" Daniel teased. Annalise's surname was Fry and she was tiny compared the sting build of us three so Danny had quickly given her the nickname 'Small Fry' which she wasn't too happy about.

"We were cold!" Jack defended.
"And you made us share a room in the first place. One of you sleep with her next time-not sleep together-we didn't..."

"She seemed perfectly happy in your arms," Danny said playfully and I led him out the room before Jack could hit him.

Annalise's POV

That was SO embarrassing! I can't believe how close Jack and I were- I liked it, of course, but for the others to find us! Ugh we're never going to live it down. I showered and reached for my clothes but then I realised I'd ran to the bathroom in such a hurry and didn't bring anything in.

"Hello?" I called, hoping someone was up here and could pass me my clothes through the door. No one answered so I presumed they were all downstairs. At least the coast was clear and I could go get them myself. I put a towel round me and went into the room I'd slept in last night.

"Annie!" Jack said, surprised. He was shirtless.

Well this day just gets worse doesn't it.

"I just came in to get my clothes - close your eyes!"

He shut his eyes and I quickly grabbed my clothes from yesterday. Half an hour later we were all dressed and planning on going home. Jack and I hadn't said anything to each other since the encounter in the bedroom and Jason kept making teasing remarks at us.

Another month had passed and luckily none of us had been caught or tracked by the gang from the mission. Jack and I had been flirting and Danny and Merritt were picking up on it but I was too shy to make a move on him; he probably didn't even like me anyway, we were just friends and he's probably like that with everyone.
