HEY! :D Okay, first.of all, I AM SO SORRY THAT IT IS LATE BUT I HAVE WAY TOO MUCH HOMEWORK AND UGH I HATE IT. Anyway, here's the chapter. Enjoy!
-Percy's POV-
After Leo and Caeda left, I had walked up to Nico and sat beside him. He sighed and put his head on my shoulder.
''Clarisse told her.'' he said.
''She wasn't mad.'' I replied.
''I know, but... It's just another person I have to trust with it, and I haven't even known her for more than a day.''
''I understand, but doesn't make the fact that she's your sister it any easier?''
''Yeah, my sister... Another sister to look after, to protect, to lose...'' He buried his face in my neck and we stayed like that until the horn blew for lunch.
''Let's go.'' I said. He nodded and we walked to the mess hal together.
We sat at a table with the same people as breakfast.talking about Caeda's skills with her daggers, even though most of us were only half listening.
Nico ate nothing, as usual, and, as usual, I took him to my cabin to force him to eat something. When he was full, we went to the training hall to practice for tonight's capture the flag. When we walked in, the dummies looked like a manticore had killed them, it was hard to believe Caeda did that. I mean, she wasn't even here a full day yet!
Nico summoned his Stygian iron sword and I uncapped Riptide. We both went into battle positions, waiting for the other to begin. When Nico finally decided to be the first to move, the battle began.
He slashed out and I barely blocked it, causing me to step back a little. I swung Riptide to his feet, but he quickly jumped over my sword before it could do any damage. I summoned water from the little drinking fountain and used part of it as a protective shield, while the rest formed a sword of water. It couldn't really hurt him, so I could stab and slash at him as much as I wanted.
''Are we going to play like that?'' he asked in a low voice, before summoning some skeletons and telling them to battle me. Great, now I had to battle 6 skeletons AND try not to get sliced to bits by Nico. After what felt like hours, though it never could've been more than 20 minutes, I felt myself weaken. There appeared holes in my defense and my offense wasn't as strong as it could be either. I felt sweaty and tired.
''Don't these things ever get tired?!'' I asked, as I deflected another attack from one of the skeletons. Nico laughed.
''Of course not! They're already dead!'' he answered. Even though he attacked like he was full with energy, I knew it must tire him to keep the skeletons up here for so long. He finally let the skeletons sink back into the ground and it was a one on one battle again. We decided to go for disarming instead of getting the other person to the ground since that would cost less energy and we were already drained. Finally, I did the trick that Luke learned me in my first summer on Camp Half Blood. Nico's sword clattered to the ground and I smiled, capping Riptide again. Nico picked up his sword and let it disappear in the shadows.
We walked to my cabin and sat down on the couch. He rested his head on my shoulder.
''I'm tired.'' he said.
''Let's sleep, then.'' We got up and went to my bedroom. He fell asleep as soon as his head touched the pillow. I thought about how lucky I was to have him, and after a while I dozed off too.
We woke up from the sound of the horn that told us it was time for dinner. We slowly got up and found our way to the mess hall, where everyone already sat. We went to sit by a table with the rest. Apparently, Caeda had climbed the lava wall for the first time. She waved when she saw us, but continued her story fast.
''That thing was scary as hell! I mean, Heights, lava, AND the chance to get crushed? Why?!'' Leo shook his head.
''You weren't even in danger! Really you were so fast I almost couldn't see you anymore!'' he said, and she rolled her eyes.
''That happens with distance, firefucker, things seem to get smaller until you can't see them anymore.'' Leo couldn't seem to find a response (which was new) and we ate the rest of our dinner in silence. Well, except for Nico. He sat in silence, but didn't eat anything.
''Eat.'' I said. He shook his head.
''Make me.''
''You know I will, even if it's not here you know I will make you eat something at my cabin.'' I said. Leo found his voice again.
''You know, I would rather sit here and eat my dinner in peace than hearing all the eh- nice details about your relationship.'' Nico got pale and stood up quickly. A few seconds later, he came back with a plate that actually had food on it.
''That's not what I meant, but thanks, I guess, since he's actually eating now.'' I said to Leo. He nodded sarcastically.
''Of course it wasn't.'' he said, still sarcastic. That got him an elbow in the ribs from Caeda.
''Just let them be! I don't think you would like it if someone said that to you, huh?'' she said.
''Actually-'' he began, but she glared daggers at him and he shut up. Good, finally someone who could keep him under control. When Nico and I saw them at the beach this morning, Nico freaked out, but I just thought that they looked cute. It would be nice for Leo if he finally found someone, and Caeda just seemed like the right person for him. Wait, why am I thinking like an Aphrodite girl?
Chiron asked for attention to tell the teams for capture the flag.
''Today, the Zeus, Hades, Hermes and Athena cabins will play against the Poseidon, Ares, Aphrodite, Apollo and Hephaestus cabins. You can now go and prepare for the game.'' he told us. Of course, I had to work with Clarisse, and against Nico. Luckily, I also had to play against Annabeth.
Clarisse chose that moment to walk to our table and talk to Caeda.
''So, I see you decided to stay with the fags? Such a shame, you could have done so much better...'' she said. Caeda gave her a cold look, complete with cold, almost arrogant smile.
''Just wait until I kick your butt and steal your flag tonight and then we'll talk again. Bye Clarisse!'' She waved sarcastically and turned her back to Clarisse. I couldn't believe the guts that girl had, and neither could Clarisse. Her eyes were filled with rage as she turned around and walked away.
''Uh oh... That wasn't exactly the smartest thing to do,'' Jason said, ''she's probably planning something for tonight, I'd watch my back if I were you.'' The others nodded and she looked a little less sure of herself. I got the feeling she could stand her ground, though.
We all went to prepare ourselves for capture the flag, which ended up with Nico and me sleeping in my cabin again. Well, we weren't sleeping, but we were laying on my bed and held each other. After a while, Nico fell asleep. I couldn't seem to sleep, though. I just lay there thinking about him. I buried my face in his neck while his forehead rested against my chest.
''I love you, Nico di Angelo.'' I whispered, even though I knew he couldn't hear me because he was asleep. I wondered how things went so fast... I mean, just three days ago, I would have never believed it if someone told me I would be sleeping in the same bed as Nico by now. Yet that was exactly what was happening. I smiled as I slowly drifted off to sleep.
We got woken up by Jason, he said that capture the flag would begin in half an hour, and that the teams had to arm themselves and come with strategies now. Nico and I got up and the three of us walked to the edge of the forest. I said goodbye to Nico by giving him a small kiss, so small that nobody could've seen it, and to Jason by just waving awkwardly, knowing that he had seen it. Then I went to talk about strategies with my team.
