Chapter 5

Ok Roxanne is back y'all this is her chapter! No Kendrick's! Enjoy.

Roxanne's P.O.V(15)
Well, today is the day I am now fifteen. And not adopted. Kendrick where are you? I haven't seen you in three years. What am I to do? You said if I am not adopted by fifteen you would marry me. But where are you? School got in the way with both of us. I guess I should just give up with the marriage and all. I really didn't want to get up. Every birthday in this orphanage is special. The birthday kid gets cake and ice cream. So did the others. And Ms. Ruby got at least two presents to the birthday kid.
Standing up I got dressed into the summer dress that Ms. Ruby forced me to wear today it was a pure black one. She said it made my eyes and hair pop. Walking downstairs I saw Mr. James with bags in his hands. That must be why all my stuff was missing. Except for this dress. Looking at Ms. Ruby she handed my a gift and said "open it." It was small and when I looked at the tag it was from Kendrick. Opening it I saw a ring box. Freezing up I opened the box and there was a promise ring in there there was also a note. Taking the note I opened it and it read:
Dear Roxy,
So I want to say sorry for not seeing you for three years, but I want you to know that I was getting forced to find a wife. And my parents are trying to find her for me. So I am sorry. I know Roxy. But this is a promise ring. As a promise to you I will marry you.
I hope you are in the orphanage still. And you get this. But I know I can't control it. So I want you to know I am turning all of them down. All of them want me for money. Or looks. But not how you see me, not how I see you. Your personality is of what matches the ring. My little blue fire.
I still have that burn scar. But I am happy I still have it. It reminds me of you. A fire. You burn on no matter what. I can't wait to see you again Roxy I love you still and I will forever love you.

Smiling I slipped on the ring. It was a black ring with blue fire opals all around it. The whole design was all about rectangles. I loved it. I smiled and Ms. Ruby then said "Roxanne. Those weren't my gifts. Here you go." She handed me two wrapped up items I opened one of them and it was a bracelet. A charm bracelet. There was a dragon, a Phoenix, and three different foxes. I smiled at her and she then said "you need to open the other before you thank me." Nodding I opened the other gift. It was a scrap book. My eyes widen and I said "Ms. Ruby. I love these gifts! Thank you so so so much." I hugged her tightly and she then hugged back and then she said "that has every single photo, note, and drawing in there even some you may not know." I let out tears of joy. These gifts were perfect. No matter what I knew my happiness couldn't be bought. These priceless things are what I needed other then the ring and bracelet. These two were ok but the one thing I ended up living the most is the scrap book. I then was given a picture frame that had a picture of everyone in the orphanage. Even me. These photos were given out to kids who were adopted or taken to their foster family. My eyes widen and I then asked "wait I'm getting adopted?" She nodded and said "well, not adopted fully but more like foster. James here decided you needed some where to stay other then here."
I turned around and he was smiling he was happy with what he did, I could tell. I then jumped up to him and hugged him tightly. He chuckled and caught his balance before he fell. I then said "oh my god thank you so much!" He chuckled and said "well, I have known you for years. And no one wanted you so you are coming with me little lady. And you won't have to hide your wings anymore. I promise." I let go of him and I then hugged Ms. Ruby and I then said "you raised me so well. And not like some of the others. And I will put all of this to good use." She laughed and said "James I hope you don't mind me stealing her for the day. We have this thing we do here for birthdays. And for summer birthdays we have a very special festivities." I let go and said "water balloon fight?" She nodded and said "water balloon fight." She was like a child after all. That's why I turned out how I did. But she also was wise and smart. So she taught me from what she knew.
I smiled and she then said "James how about you decorate the room she will be in. And drop off all the stuff." He nodded and said "little lady, want me to bring you scrap book? So it won't get damage." I nodded and slipped it into a bag along with the photo in the frame. It was just as valuable as the scrap book to me. I then turned to Ms. Ruby and asked "hey want me to start cooking some food?" She nodded and said "cook what ever you want. Remember some people here need vegetarian food only." I nodded and made my favorite food, other than chocolate, homemade French fries and burgers. Along with vegetarian burgers. It took some time yes but in the end it was worth it. All of the kids loved the burgers and fries. And I kept the fries in the oven to keep them warm.
Then the water balloon fight. We all ran around the yard tossing water balloons at each other. I let kids hit me and I hit the kids. But we loved getting hit with how hot it was. The water was refreshing after all. Ms. Ruby laughed as she was tossing balloons and getting attacked by little kids too. When we ran out of water balloons we all sat outside and smacked on som fries, chips, or burgers. We were dry in the matter of an hour. And we were able to get inside. When I got in Ms. Ruby then pulled out a cake. Oh no. This is what she wanted to keep me here for. She did this to all of the kids. I tried to run but too late. My face was covered in cake, frosting, and a strawberry.
She moved the plate away from me and I the wiped off the cake and I then smashed it into Ms. Ruby's face her face was hilarious. She looked at me and we both started to laugh. I then said "is there at least another cake for the others to have some?" She nodded and said "yep and ice cream as well." "Good." "I will go and wash my face real quick." Nodding she then said "I will too. After all, you got me as well." Chuckling I got to the bathroom and I then wiped off of the frosting and cake before using the soap to wash off all of the sugar.
The rest of the day was eating cake, ice cream, watching movies, and popcorn. Cause all movies need some kind of popcorn. Soon Mr. James was here. I was all happy to see him but also sad, so I then yelled "GROUP HUG!" I was covered in children. I smiled at this and I then said "I'm gonna miss all of you guys! You all were just like family to me. I will remember you and I hope you remember me." The children peeled off of me by groups. When I was children free I then said "want a goodbye hug Ms. Ruby?" She nodded and I then hugged her tightly and she hugged me back. I then whispered "I will always remember you." "And you are always welcome. Your still young. If you need help I am here. After all I am immortal." She whispered back.
I nodded and we let go and she then said "take good care of her James." He nodded and said "will do Ruby." She then walked up to him and whispered something. He nodded and he then said "ok little lady let's go. You now have a home." Nodding I looked at Ms. Ruby and I then said "I will come back if I need help." She nodded and I then walked behind Mr. James and he then said "ok so here is the low down for when we get there. I have a son. We are looking for his bride. He has rejected every single one of them. He needs to find his bride as soon as possible." Nodding we got into the car and I then asked "can I have my wings out?" He nodded and said "of course." Making the concealing spell wear down and break. My wings tried to spread out but it was too small.
Mr. James smiled and said "your wings are beautiful as always little lady." I smiled at him. He was so nice. He reminded me of Kendrick. He reminded me of Kendrick a lot. Not only in the kindness but also in the looks. Then Mr. James said "our son may have a problem with women especially the blondes. Says they are all after money. Not all of them are." Nodding but most of them are. "Well, some may hide their greed. Most women have been known to take money and others want to have fame." Nodding he knew what I meant. Most girls were interested in money. Me I was interested in personality. Soon we arrived to the house. It was my new home. When I got out of the car I felt eyes on me. I stretched my wings out fully. They have grown. Now they were full grown. They were 55. They were big compared to other wing spans. But I was 'special.' I then felt the Looking got too much so I hid my wings and tail. So people couldn't see then.
I looked at Mr. James and I then asked "so where will I be sleeping?" He looked at me and then he said "well a bedroom of course." I chuckled at his humor and I then said "ok Mr. James where is this bedroom I am staying in?" He took my hand and said "I will bring you. After all you needed to see what Judy did. Beautiful." I chuckled and I followed him. When we got here I saw the room. It was a bright teal, just like my wings. I looked at my bed and I saw it was a black comforter. And there were som mirrors around along with a book shelf. It was beautiful. I turned to him and I then said "it's beautiful." He smiled and said "yeah. Here I am going to bring in my son. He needs to meet you. After all he is one of the head of this house." I nodded and he left.
I knew this place is the other place I belong. After all this reminded me so much of a home. It made me feel so welcomed. Along with the feeling of my heart warming up this is one of my first homes and I have this will be my last home, for as long as I live this is one of the homes I would live forever in because of then fact it was the only home other then the orphanage I felt welcomed after all this was the home of the one who saved me and the one who saved my again.

Yeah two chapters one day. I know jumping around a lot with their P.O.Vs. But I enjoy it. Gives me more variety. And it also helps give me diverse words. Words I use and words others use. Anyway. Hope you enjoyed!
