Sol and the others sidled along the wall, and Cowgirl peeked over it.
"Look at this." She whispered urgently.
Sol took her place and took a peek as well. If she wasn't introduced to physics defying technology, the sight would have shocked her.
Two robots, like the one she saw on the monitor, were patrolling the streets. In their arms were rifles.
"Are those what we saw on that monitor?" She asked.
Homer looked as well, and nodded. "Yep, those are our robotic soldiers."
"What do we do now?"
Shadow stepped out of cover, gun drawn.
"We take them out." He said coldly.
"Wait!" Sol tried reaching out, but it was too late.
He ran at the soldiers, firing a shot at the one on the right, making them turn. Sol gasped as she saw a beam of blue light come out of the gun, and heard a sort of whizzing sound, like the one from yesterday. She then remembered the weapons from sci-fi movies she saw, which made that exact noise.
Shadow was using a blaster.
The shot hit its target in the head, making it stumble back and drop its weapon. The other shot at Shadow, but he rolled out of the way and came up with a few more blasts. His attacker was struck twice in the chest, then in the head. It collapsed as electricity sparked from it.
The other tried picking up its gun, but Shadow gave it another hit to the face and it fell back.
Sol's jaw dropped in amazement. "That was amazing!"
He scoffed. "Those were pathetic."
Then he knelt down and examined one of them. He gasped and hopped back.
"No way..."
"What is it man?" Allen asked in concern.
He and the other agents came over and took a look at the robot. Sol was confused when all of their eyes widened at something on the machine's neck.
It was a symbol in the design of a phoenix, with the majestic bird's wings outstretched as flames surrounded it. She tried to think about what the symbol meant, and then it hit her.
She remembered one of the photos on the news that showed that exact symbol. And that symbol represented...
"I-isn't that..." She stammered.
"The Koshiro insignia." Shadow finished angrily.
"But wait." Cowgirl said. "If that's on the robots..."
"Then that means Yusagi Koshiro is still alive." Matt finished.
"No!" Shadow denied, shaking his head. "I saw him die!"
"Hey man." Allen tried placing a hand on his shoulder, but Shadow shrugged him off.
"I'm the one who shot him. He was clearly dead..." He growled. "So why are these still here!?"
(What's wrong with him?) Sol thought, a little scared.
"H-he can't be alive..." Shadow continued. "Not after...."
Then he screamed and aimed his gun, shooting the robot repeatedly until only small bits were left. The rest watched in horror as the mech was reduced to nothing more than scrap metal before their eyes.
Shadow breathed heavily. "He is not going to get away with this....let's move out."
He walked down the street, and they hesitantly followed him.
