I groaned as I lifted myself up in bed, the sheets falling off my body. I pressed my hand against my head, feeling the full effects from last night. Wrapping the duvet around me, I moved to grab my phone, noticing a note on my bedside table, with a glass of water and a tablet.
Take this, see you in class on Monday,
NatsuAll I could think was, Shit. I took the tablet and crawled back under the covers, remembering the previous night's events. Why was I such a horny drunk? I asked myself. Every single time, without fail, I'd either wake up with someone, or end up confessing my love, or something. I wrapped my duvet around me, trying to cocoon myself in it, hide from my shame.
My phone beeped and I looked to see a message from Levy asking if I was ok. I sent her a quick reply before going to the kitchen and making some breakfast. I scrolled through my phone to see if I'd messaged anyone when I was drunk and breathed a sigh of relief (to some degree) when I saw that I'd only messaged Natsu, or Mr Dragneel as I supposed I should call him. Although, what I did send him made me cringe and I once again cursed drunk Lucy.
~
"Sorry I'm late," I said as I walked into the classroom.
"Lucy, what a surprise. Nice of you to join us." Natsu said dryly. I laughed and sat next to Levy.
"Sorry." I pulled out my books.
"Can you stay behind to help me sort out the textbooks?" He asked.
"I don't really have a choice, do I?" I laughed, grinning sheepishly. A couple of the students jeered at me, and I laughed alongside them.
"Quiet please," Natsu said, turning away from the whiteboard to hush us. "Or I'll find another job for you to do at lunch as well, Lucy."
"Sorry, sir." I focused on what he was writing. Dammit, I'd missed too much lesson time. I didn't have a clue what he was writing meant. I read the textbook page, but it didn't help. Maybe I should be a better student. I thought.
"I don't understand, sir," I called out.
"Maybe if you'd have been here for the lesson, it would be easier." He said without looking at me. "I'm not going to stunt the others' learning just so you can have a shorter lesson. You'll have to try to keep up." I groaned and lay my head on the table.
"Yes sir."
Levy laughed next to me, "Cheer up Lucy," She said, "I can help you."
"You're the most amazing person ever." I sat up straight to smile at her.
"Yeah, but I don't wanna make a habit of it, so try coming to class more, ok?" She laughed.
"Ok."
~
"Ok, I'll see you all tomorrow, make sure you do the questions I set you before then," Natsu said as the class packed away. "Lucy, remember to stay back."
"Yes sir," I grumbled.
"See you in a bit," Levy said.
"You going to the shop?" I asked her.
"Probably," She replied, glancing at Gajeel, "You wanted to get food, right?" He nodded.
"Can you get me an iced coffee?" I dug around in my purse for the change and handed it to her.
"Sure," Levy said. "Have fun." She and Gajeel left the classroom, the taller boy resting an arm on her head before she irritably pushed it off.
"Help me sort out the textbooks." Natsu pointed at the pile next to him.
"You know, you can't really give sixth formers detentions, sir," I said, slumping on a chair to sort through the books.
"It's not really detention, Lucy. It's not going on the system and it'll only take you a few minutes." He replied, not looking up from his marking. "That is if you stop complaining and actually do it." Natsu glanced up at me and gave me a wry smile.
"Yeah, yeah, ok," I mumbled. "How am I sorting them?"
"Take off the piece of paper stuck inside," He indicated the section he meant, "And then put them in piles of which textbook they are." I nodded and started the tedious task. As I sorted, I watched Natsu out of the corner of my eye. His hair was styled neatly, unlike the night we met, and he was wearing glasses as he wrote in the books. When he concentrated, he would stick his tongue out slightly or bite his lower lip. He glanced up at me and I returned my attention to the book I was holding, pretending I wasn't looking at him.
"Where do these go?" I asked, pointing to the piles.
"There are boxes over there with the year group names on, put the textbooks in the right ones."
"Right." I picked up a stack and made my way over.
"Shit!" I cried out as I tripped over a table leg. With a crash I fell on the floor, the textbooks spilling around me.
"You ok?" Natsu asked, suddenly appearing beside me. I nodded breathlessly. I looked at him to see a faint blush coating his cheeks as he looked down at where my skirt had hitched up. I stood up quickly and went to pick the books back up.
"Next time, carry fewer books and watch where you're going," Natsu said.
"Ok." I moved the books quietly, doing as he asked.
"Hey, sir?"
"Yeah?" He replied.
"I'm sorry about the other day," I replied as I put some more textbooks in a box. "I'm not the greatest drunk." I laughed.
"It's fine." He said. "As long as you don't make a habit of it."
"I won't. I promise." I watched as he pulled his glasses off and started cleaning them. Fuck, he was hot. I put the last pile of textbooks away and grabbed my bag.
"See you tomorrow, sir." I grinned as I turned to leave.
"Wait a sec, Lucy." Natsu said. "You didn't understand the lesson, right?"
"Well, yeah but that's my fault." I laughed, "I'll make sure to read the textbooks inside out and back to front."
"I'll email you some resources that might help you, ok?" He said, moving to the computer. "If you need me to go over anything, then just ask."
"Yeah." Fuck, he was really hot. "See you tomorrow."
