Chapter 2

She didn't say anything until I was waving my hands in front of her snapping her out of her shocking trance.

I laughed when she looked at me with a look that said "what hell just happened."

I couldn't stop laughing until she said what's so funny that's when i stopped laughing and told her again.

" Would you like to be friends to make it up to you." I say.

" Oh." She chuckled with a smile on her face.

There were was a comfortable silence between us, until my best friend picked me up and threw me over his shoulder , ran off without giving me a chance to speak with Elizabeth again.

* Lunch Room* 5 minutes later*

He puts me down when we reach the long of people getting lunch and when it was our turn.

I turn around punching him straight on his jaw making him take a few steps back wincing in pain.

"That was for picking me up while I talking with someone."I say with irritation in my voice.

" Damn sorry shit." He said while rubbing his bruise jaw.

" Its fine." I said while walking up to him to take a look at his jaw and I can see he is gonna have a bruise for a few days but its not broken.

Im thankful but I don't tell him, the thing you need to know is that Luis can take a hit but no one trys until we met.

Flash back - The day I met luis

He was playing alone at the park and I was playing around with my friends and they went to the swings when I saw some kids pushing him around because he was different. Because he didn't have nice clothes like everyone us, I intervene when one kid went too far calling him all names like you are a freak and you wont amount to anything.

That's when I walk up to them. They turn around when they heard footsteps coming from behind them

" You cant just come up to someone you don't even know and say that because he's different." I said with annoyance in my voice.

" Who are you to tell us otherwise." One kid said with a smirk on his face while crossing his arms on his chest.

"Yeah who the hell are you." Said the one I think is the leader of the group with a grin on his face.

" I think she is the girlfriend of the boy." Another one said from beside them while laughing.

" One Im not his girlfriend and Two Im not gonna watch you bully someone because he is not like you and Three I really don't wanna waste any more time with you guys." I said with a stern voice.

One guy came up to me and said to my face " What are you gonna do about it , you are just a little girl acting tough." That made me snap so I grabbed him by his hand twist it and He groan an pain.

His friends tried to advance to help him but stop when they saw me looking at them with anger so my words came out like vemon.

" This will be the last time I see any of you bullying do you understand." I said with anger in my voice.

They flinch and stuttering they said

" Yes we.... we...wont...bother him or....any...other kids again."They said at the same time.

"That's good because if I do see you guys bother him or other kids I wont hesitate to teach you a lesson." I said with a stern voice.

" Its good to know that our dad taught you how to fight and defend yourself baby sis." I release my grip on the boy in front of me and turn around to see my big brother Sam.

" Sam." I scream his name while running to him, jumping up to his open arms and giving him a tight hug.

"Im sorry you had to stand up for me." Said a voice I dont know so I told my big brother to put me and he did.

I turned around to notice the kid who was been bullied apologize, I walked up to him and said.

" Their is nothing for you to apologize for you didn't do anything wrong."I said with a smile.

" But if I was strong in fine, you wouldn't have to stand up to those kids bullying me." He said with a sad voice and  embarrassment.

" Dont be sad or embarrass because what makes you strong its what you have in here." I said while pointing to his chest where his heart is.

" Thank you." He said with a smile.

" Your welcome anyway my name is Beth Gracia whats yours." I said with a smile extending my hand for him to shake.

" Luis Ortiz."He said while shaking my hand.

My brother walked up to him and said.

"Sam Gracia and Im this little girls brother." While trying not to laugh but he failed.

I punched my brother on his shoulder and he wince in pain and I burst out laughing because he was rubbing where I punched him not so long ago.

" Why are you so mean to me." My brother said and I couldn't stop laughing until Luis join in with me.

"I like him, he is my new best friend."I said with tears in my eyes from laughing.

" You guys are gonna be bad." Sam said while chuckling.

That was the begin of my friendship with Luis and throughout the years we have known each other I taught him how to defend himself.

Back to the present

We got our lunch and sat together, while talking about everything from sports to cars.

" What are you planning to do after high school." I asked while taking a sip from my soda.

"I dont know really, College sounds like fun but I wanna make a name for myself." He said while taking a bite from his burger.

" Like what, I mean like what career would you take to make a name for yourself." I said taking a bite from my pizza.

While we were eating our food and talking the bell rings telling us it's time for our next class so me and Luis stand up, threw our trash away and walked out of the lunch room talking about a new show that came last week.

We were talking until we walked into class and the teacher is pretty cool she doesn't gives us homework if we finish it in class and that's how the my day went, She started passing out the assignment when the rest of the students show up and sat down.

15 minutes later

Im done with my assignment until I gave it to my teacher to grade, Thats why when she looked up to me, She wasnt surprise and handed me my homework for the class.

I took the paper and look at it, it was a article about the Civil War. So when I walked back to my seat and sat down, I started reading the article and stop when Luis sat beside me.

" Hey." I said looking up from the article.

"Hey wanna finnish the homework together."He said with a playful smirk.

" Sure but you are gonna owe."I said with a grin.

" Thats cool I dont mind." He said while chuckling.

The rest of the day in class, we finnish our homework and handed it to the teacher and she took it with a smile on her face that reached her eyes.
