"Um," I said awkwardly, looking back and forth between Luke And Michael, who were staring blankly at each other.
"I haven't seen you in years!" Luke whisper-shouted.
"I didn't even know you moved to the U.S!" Michael replied.
"I should be saying the same." Luke muttered.
I sat there motionless and utterly confused while listening to the two boys catch up.
"How's Liz," Michael asked softly.
Luke didn't say a word, looking to up at Michael for the first time since they started talking with a saddened look.
"I'm so sorry," Michael quickly uttered, looking so completely hurt.
"I don't need your sympathy," Luke spat. Funny, I said those exact words to him last week.
Luke quickly regained himself.
"Sorry, I shouldn't have snapped at you." He avoided Michaels eyes, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.
"It's fine."
"Okay I'm sorry to interrupt but what's happening?" I said impatiently. It's like they forgot I was even here.
"I should go." Luke said awkwardly, inching out of the booth.
"Bye?"
"I'll see you around," he reassured me, sparing a small smile.
"Bye," Michael muttered as Luke walked past him and out the door.
"I think my break is over," Michael said, trying to get out of a conversation I know he dreaded.
"It is, but I expect an explanation soon," I announced, giving him a light kiss on the cheek and saying a quick goodbye.
A/n: sorry for the late update, but here ya go(:
