Eileen watched in disappointment as the Clemson Tigers ran to victory. Her face fell. Her poor boys were going to hear about it when they got in the meeting tonight. One loss. All season. And it was the Championship.
Her breath hitched as Nick looked at the other coaches. She knew that look all to well. The look Saban gave them when it was time for them to get their tails into the game.
She sighed and walked towards the Quarter back. "Tua." She sat next to him.
"Hey Leenie." He tried to give her a real smile.
"You did amazing. I am so proud of you. You worked so hard this season and I know for a fact that the guys will destroy next year. They will come back harder and stronger than ever." I rubbed his back.
"I know." He sighed. "Its gonna be there though. Eating away at me."
"Its okay." I smiled and walked next to Saban, who was brewing like a storm.
"Eileen. You and Tua, head to press after the ceremony." Nick sighed.
"Of course coach."
She watched Clemson run into the field to shouts of victory. Her face hardened from lack of sleep and stress made her look like a woman ready to destroy.
Her white top, Crimson blazer, and blue jeans had her professional looking but still looking like she could easily run the the field to help one of the players.
Her position as Student Assistant Athletics Health and Wellness Director, earned her a spot with the other coaches, but Tua always made sure she was near the front so she could watch easily.
The Tide watched the other team receive their trophy and the rest of the things. Eileen watched the rivaling coach take the stand, along with the handsome young Senior quarter back. She sighed as she watched. The people around her were moving, until it was just her on the field. What had she done? Did her fitness program have a hole she didn't see? What made them lose? Was it her?
Tua came striding over. "Ready to go to the wolves?" He smirked. He was showered and dressed in crimson gear.
"As I'll ever be."
She took a deep breath and they walked into the large room where the Tigers and the Tide players were holding press.
"Tua!" A voice called and a hand clapped him on the back.
Tua and Eileen turned to come face to face with Trevor Lawrence, the Quarter back for the Clemson Tigers.
"Trevor." Tua let a small smile climb across his features. "Hey, good game out there man. You did good."
"Thanks, same to you man. You guys played hard." Trevor's eyes never left the young blonde woman standing on Tua's left. "Hi I'm Trevor." He extended his hand to Eileen.
"Hi." She smiled warmly. "Eileen." He smiled as his large hand wrapped around her thin pale one. He held it for longer than normal. Like he didn't want to remove it. Like he couldn't.
"Eileen is a major in Business management, and she is minoring in athletic health and wellness. She's our director's field woman." Tua looked between the tall blond man and his friend. His face was drawn in confusion.
Eileen quickly drew her hand back and blushed.
"Busy woman."
"Very." Tua answered for me. "Well we need to get in there. Later Trevor, and good game."
"Yeah. See you around." He smiled at Eileen. "See you Eileen." He gave her one last look and a slight clasp of her hand as he walked past. Her face lit up in a blush.
"Eileen."
"Don't worry Tutu. I know better." I sighed.
"Leen." He whined behind her as she walked to the press table. "I hate that name."
"I know. Thats why I use it." She giggled and led a red faced Tua to Jaylen for a talk.
