Chapter 2 - Are Destinies Entwined?

The girls reached the temple and huffed on seeing the crowd. They ask the passerby why there is so much crowd. They reply that some VIP is coming so there is so much crowd. They still go to the temple for their darshan.

While in Singhania household Kriti is busing selecting dresses for today's evening function. They need to go for the puja held at Durga Maa's pandal. Akshara is selecting jewellery for all of them and is waiting for the girls to return. Today was a special day in Udaipur. The great Maha Durga Pooja was held by some great VIPs of Udaipur and all of them were going.

Meanwhile in Goenka and Oberoi house Pinky and Suwarna were selecting jewellery to wear it for today's evening function. Shivaay and Karthik were munching apples and discussing work related topics irritating the mothers.

Meanwhile in the temple Anika and Naira buy flowers and pooja items and go inside the temple. They stand in the queue. Their turn comes so they go and offer the items to god. They then pray to god. Unknown to them Suhasini Goenka was standing beside them.

A- Bhagwan ji main kuch nahi maangna chahti hoon apse. Sirf ye dua karti hoon ki aap mere parivaar ko hamesha khush rakhenge. Main chahti hoon ki aap meri naira ko hamesha khush rakhenge kyunki usne bahut takleef saha apni zindagi mein aur mere liye yahi khaafi hain.

N - Maa aaj tak maine kabhi kuch nahi maanga par aaj maangna chahti hoon mere di ke liye. Jaanti hoon saalon pehle us hastye ne meri di se uski khushiyaan cheen liya hain. Woh apni khushi chod ke sabki baare mein sochti hain. Meri di ki zindagi mein khushiya lana maa taki woh phir se jeena seeke. Sirf ye magna chahti Hoon aapse.

They then exited the temple. They were discussing some random topic and going towards their scooty. They reached their and kept the Prasad in their bag until they saw some goons behaving badly with an old lady.

They recognized her to be their bhabhi's grandmother. Anika closed her eyes and recalled how their bhabhi's family had humiliated her when she got married to Naksh Bhai. Naira kept her hand on Anika's shoulder knowing what her sister was thinking.

They rushed to help Suhasini Goenka. Anika knew self defense. Naira helped Suhasini get up and held her by her shoulders and while they watched Anika fight the goons. Anika took the iron rod and started beating the goons black and blue. She had defeated them all but suddenly one of the goons twisted her hand placing it on her back and held her by neck. Naira and Suhasini shouted telling her name.

Anika smirked at Naira and stamped the goons leg harshly making him groan in pain and he left her neck. She then punched him with her elbow and seeing her avatar the other goons ran away and the crowd clapped for her.

Naira smiled on seeing her sister. Suhasini smiled at both the sisters concern for them and realized how much they have wronged the Singhanias. She makes up her mind to patch up with her grandaughter's in-laws. But feared for her grandsons reaction.

They both helped Suhasini get into the car and waved bye to her and watched her going. They hopped on to their scooty and went home.

On reaching home Akshara scolded them for coming late. Both looked at each other and with their eyes they decided to not tell about their temple adventure to anyone at home. Their mother then sent both the girls to get ready as they need to leave for temple.

In the evening in Anika's room she gets ready in her salwar and wears her earrings. She opens her cupboard to take her purse but when she opens it a box falls down. She picks up the box. Her eyes become teary and her heart aches to open the box but she forbids herself from doing so. She keeps the box in the cupboard. She waits in the hall for Naira to come down.

In Naira's room she gets ready in her white salwar with golden embroidery and earrings. She does her light make up and is ready. She goes to pick up her diary which was left on the bed. She opens the diary and comes across a picture of 14 year old Naira and 17 year old Anika. She holds it to her heart and becomes teary. She keeps her picture back in the diary and murmers " I miss you Di" and keeps the diary in the cupboard and locks it and goes down.

Anika questions Naira for coming so late and Naira murmers sorry and they both leave for the pooja to join the family members who had already reached the venue.

They reach the venue and Anika is parking the scooty and Naira is noticing the place. She sees Karthik kissing a girl near a wall. She makes an yuck face at him and murmers "man whore" to him which is heard by him and he glares at her and he murmers "mad girl" to her which she hear and both glare at each other.

Anika drags Naira so as to make sure she doesn't blurt out nonsense to the stranger she is glaring. She knows that sometimes her speaks typical nonsense not realizing the surroundings.

Anika and Naira join their family. They keep their hand on their bhabhi's shoulder and try to cheer her knowing her difficulty. Kriti smiles at them knowing her sisters in-laws are just like her brothers who cannot see their loved ones unhappy.

Anika excuses herself and goes to drink water. She takes her glass fills it with water to drink. She quenches her thirst. On the way she bumps into someone.

Shivaay bumps into a girl whose dupatta's bead had got stuck to his watches strap. Anika feels a pull and notices her duppatta has got stuck to that stranger's watch strap.

She goes to free her duppatta from his watch strap. She tells sorry to the person ( Shivaay) who is still staring at her. She is shocked to see him.

She gulps the lump forming in her throat when she sees him. Both are staring at each with hate. For her he is the person who hates her and broke her. For him she is the person whose heart he broke and he hates her.

Both realise they were staring at each other and look at each other before moving and joining their respective families.
