Ryder in disbelief looks at me as if it was a joke, "Right. Very funny."
I sit there and wait for him to figure out that I am in fact telling the truth. His facial expression changes when I don't laugh with him.
"You are? You never did anything with," He rolls his eyes at the sound of his name. "Bradley?"
I shake my head, "No, because I knew he wouldn't be worth it." I say with pursed lips.
His gaze grows more excitable, "And I am?" He leans on the table with his thumb to his lips.
I narrow my eyes at him with an eyebrow raised, "Watch it mister."
He grins and sticks his hands up in surrender. I roll my eyes biting my lip.
"Did you just rolls your eyes at me Ms. King?" He asks with hungry eyes.
I smile with a sly eye and I lick my lips, "Maybe, What are you gonna do about it?" I say cunningly.
He threatens to come across the table by standing up, but by the time he is at his feet my phone starts ringing.
I answer, "hello?" I hold my stare with Ryder from across the table, while he stands there with both his hands on the table.
As the person on the other end of the line speaks, my eyes grow watery. My mood changes in the blink of an eye.
"Casey?" Ryder asks in a worried voice.
I try my hardest to choke down the tears but they flow out of me like a waterfall, "It's m-my mom.. She's-she's.... Gone." I burst into tears and drop my phone to the ground.
.
.
I had stayed in Ryder's bed for 13 days while he was at work. He knew I was in a lot of pain so he let me stay in his bed to grieve the loss of my mother.Since I had taken over his bed he slept on the couch.
It was his idea, I told him I'd be fine sleeping on the couch but he insisted.
I look to the door as I hear footsteps approaching, the door slowly swings open and Ryder enters."Hey.. Your up earlier than you were the past almost 2 weeks. You feeling okay?" He says loosening his tie.
"Yeah. I'm-I'm okay." I say as Ryder places a hand against my cheek.
"Okay," He utters softly. "I'll be in the shower if you need me." He speaks in a saddening voice, then disappears behind a door.
I felt like I was letting him down, I had felt so useless since the passing of my mom. It was time I got my shit together and repay Ryder for sticking by my side and allowing me into his home for the time being.
I got up off the bed, undressing myself until I was completely naked then wandering threw the door I watched Ryder walk threw.
I walk around the corner to see him behind glass, facing away from me, towards the falling water. I open the glass door not making a sound, I then close it and walk up behind Ryder studying his naked body as I tiptoe. I gently place my hand on his back which makes him jump, grabbing my hand he turns around to see me.
"Casey-" He starts but I put my finger to his lips.
"Don't Ryder.." I whisper.
I gently place my hand upon his neck and pull him closer, guiding his lips closer to mine until they meet. We stay like this for awhile, holding each other, and embracing one another in this very passionate kiss.Ryder pulls away looking into my eyes, "Casey.. Are you sure about this?"
I nod in approval, "Yes, I'm sure." I whisper.
He turns the two of us around and leans my back against the wall where I am met by hot water flowing down my naked body, with one hand holding the small of my back and the other firmly stuck to the wall. His body pressed to mine to keep me from escaping, his lips attack mine. My hand glides down from his neck, over his lustrous chest. He stops me and pins my hand against the shower wall, "Don't. Got it?" He irks at me. Staring in my eyes, I watch his eyes grow dark.
