Hidden Addiction

Chapter 14

After hearing what the stranger had to say, I hangup the phone and slide it into my back pocket.

I stood there, unsure what i was going to do if I had to disappear in the middle of the night.
I wanted to protect both my aunt and Ryder but how could i ever leave him with all the bullshit we've been threw.

"Hey, who was that?" I hear his voice and his hand touch my back.

I flinch and look up at him, "Oh-uh just someone from the office wondering where to put the papers I have to do when we get back." I fake a smile as best i can, even though my heart is aching.

Ryder smiles down at me, "Okay well, are you ready to head down to the hut we are staying in?"
As he starts to walk away I panic and grab his hand.

He turns and looks at me with a worried face, "what's wrong?" He asks.

I sit there and remember what the stranger said to me on the phone 10 minutes ago.
"Nothing. Just wanted to say I love you, and thank you for bringing me here with you."

Ryder stares at me for a few seconds, then pulls me into his arms.
"Cas, you know if anything is wrong you can tell me. Right?" He says calmly, and tilts my head up to face him. Gently he leans in and places a soft, sweet kiss on my lips.

As we walk up to the hut we are going to be staying in. I smile as big as I ever have. It was so beautiful, inside and out. 

A huge bed to fit about 5 people in it, an even bigger bathtub that was filled with roses and herbs.
This place was hard to put into words it was so beautiful.

I walk into another room away from Ryder, my eyes burning and tearing up. I try to calm my breathing as my heart beats rapidly, hearing footsteps coming up behind me I turn around quickly.
  
Catching my eye is Ryder who is looking at me confused.
"What's going on with you?" He stands in the door way with his arms crossed, not moving.
I shake my head, I can't tell him anything about what the man on the phone said to me.

"Nothing I'm just a bit, um tired. That's all." I fake smile at him.

He stays there, almost glaring at me, "Cas, Are you sure that's all that's going on with you?" He pushes me on.

I nod, "Yeah, why?"

"Your not.. you know?" he looks at my stomach.

I look down, "You think I'm pregnant?" My eyes grow wide, and fly up to his.

He shrugs, "You've been acting weird since we got here. And you've been really tired lately." He pauses and pulls out a pregnancy test, "Couldn't hurt to take one just in case."

I nod nervously. "Okay." I take it from him and walk towards the bathroom.
Him right on my heels, I shake my head and shut the door before he has a chance to walk in.

After taking it I open the door and we wait for it, nervously, together.

"What are we gonna do if it's positive?" I ask rubbing my eyes.

He looks at me, "Whatever you wanna do." He pauses for a moment. "Do you want kids with me?" I look up at him from the floor I just sat on.

"I wouldn't want kids with anyone besides you Ryder."

He smiles slightly, and looks at the test then looks down at me.
"Well your not pregnant." He says bluntly and walks out of the room.

I stand up walking with him, "Is that a bad thing?" I ask.
He shakes his head and turns towards me, "If your not pregnant then what's been going on with you?"

"Nothing is going on with me Ryder."
"Bullshit Casey," He pauses, "What, are you second guessing us now?"

"What? No?" I look at him confused.
  
He shakes his head. "I don't know why you won't tell me what's going on with you."

"Ryder I told you nothing was going on. So drop it already."
I watched him stand there without another word.

"Im going for a walk." I say walking towards the door to the outside. 

He steps forward, looking at me, "Let me come with you."
"No," I sternly tell him and shut the door.

This wasn't only to give us time to cool down, it was also to see what the stranger on the phone wanted from me.
Upon approuching the spot he had told me to meet him at, I am startled to see a man waiting along the beach, with 2 large dogs.
As I get within sight of these animals, they perk up and growl.
I jump at the sound, but try to keep my cool as I reach a few feet from them and stop.
"Hush!" the man yells harshly at them. And they silently lay their heads back down onto the sand, beside the feet of the man who commands them.

His eyes shoot to me, and a wicked, evil smile appears; revealing a gold tooth that replaces his top left canine, sharper than any tooth I'd seen before.

"Casey, Casey, Casey." He says in a sinister voice, and a chuckle. 

My heart begins to thump hard, "who are you?"

"You may not know who I am, but your little boyfriend does."

I look at this man confused, "Ryder?"
"Yes." He hisses.

"So your telling me, this has to do with something Ryder did?" i ask.
  
The man begins to approuch me, and as he does both dogs are right by his side. Their eyes fixed to me the whole time.
I become anxious to leave before he even says another word.
  
"Yes, Ryder.. AKA Mr. Blu, is the reason you are here." He pauses and he is a few inches from me. His dogs circle the both of us.
  
"He ruined my life.. Now I'm going to ruin his as well." A vile and creepy chuckle emerges from the man standing infront of me.
