AMANDA
It has been a week since Emilys funeral. When she collapsed we took her to the car and drove her to the hospital. It was useless. She was already dead.
At the funeral her parents gave a teary speech about how much she gave to the world, and her brother cried and spoke about how clever she was. Zoe cried the entire way through both of their speeches until it was time for hers.
I had known Emily for years, but I didn't know her until a few days ago. It's funny how you can see someone everyday but not really know them until you are thrown into a life and death situation with them.
I heard a knock on my window. I opened it and saw Alex looking back at me. He smiled. I let him in and went downstairs to get some snacks. I slipped on some spilt liquid on the floor and cut myself on the bits of glass from the bottle that had once held the liquid. My hand was bleeding. It didn't hurt much, but it was a bit of a nuisance. I rinsed it under the tap and got rid of most of the blood but it was still bleeding a bit.
I grabbed a couple of packets of crisps and made my way upstairs. Because of my demon blood the cuts on my hand had already begun to heal. I opened the door and dropped the crisps in shock.
Alex was standing in the middle of the room. His face was disfigured and his skin was pale. He was staring at my bleeding hand. From the corner of his mouth I could see a long sharp tooth.
We stood there, me staring at him, him staring at me for what felt like hours. Then he spun on his heels, grabbed his leather coat and jumped out of the window.
As soon as he was gone I was released from my temporary paralysis. I ran to my phone and dialed Zoes number. She picked up after the second ring.
"Zoe?"
"Amanda? Whats wrong?"
I took a deep breath in.
"Alex is a vampire"
