The next morning you are almost late to breakfast, staying up late into the night was fine in the summer but now you also had to get up early. Your eyelids felt like they weighed a million pounds and you could practically smell your morning tea.
Quickly getting dressed and grabbing your books you made your way to the Great Hall, sitting with your friends and filling your plate and your tea cup. As you drank the entire thing you felt yourself become more alive, you could actually function now with a combination of a few hours' sleep and some caffeine.
Placing your cup down you looked around the room, you smiled at your friendly Gryffindor friends and then noticed the Slytherin table just as the mail owls flew in.
Oh shit, you forgot you sent a letter to Draco last night. You casually made yourself another cup of tea whilst watching the Slytherin's open their letters, you were waiting for Draco to grab your letter which was a light blue paper sealed with gold wax.
He opened the letter while having a conversation with his friends, he started reading it and held a hand up to his friend silencing them, he didn't look happy like you thought he would he looked ...angry?
Well that plan worked really well, Draco took the letter in his hands and crumbled it with a grimace on his face then cast a spell instantly burning it making it disappear. You looked away starring at your own reflection in your tea, you knew Draco was rude and sour but you were just trying to be nice.
You look back up to see Draco sitting in silence, his face rested on his hands, he is deep in thought and hopefully they are good ones but sadly you can't read minds.
You don't see or think about him again until it's after lunch, you turned into your Animagus form trying to get to class in time since you feel asleep in the library. As you quickly flew through the halls, high enough that no one would see, you ran into two people talking. As you get closer you hide yourself better in the beams of the ceiling.
"I'm just saying, I would never be a death eater, I agree with a lot of their ideals but I wouldn't want that stupid mark on my arm." Blaise exclaimed pointing to his arm.
"Yeah but I mean if you were potentially asked, you'd say yes yeah?" Draco asked as casually as he could.
"Nah I don't think I'd do it." Blaise answered.
They were interrupted when Professor Snape walked down the hall dismissing them to class, you flew above them making your way to your class.
As you sat in class you couldn't stop thinking about Draco, you felt so guilty and your conscious was eating away at you. He had tried to talk to his friends and they didn't seem to be giving him any help.
Wait, why was he asking about death eaters and dark marks, you knew his father was one but could that be why he was so stressed out and upset? Was he being asked to do something or take his father's place, you were so deep in thought for the entire class trying to figure this kid out.
By the end of class, you made a decision. Clearly Draco was having a hard time, no matter what it was about. If his friends weren't going to help him you would, or at least you would try.

The next time you saw Draco was when you walked into potions, it was a shared class between HufflePuff and Slytherin, as per usual Snape was teaching potions which meant he would favour the Slytherin's.
