A/n: Their attempt at being normal fails miserably

A cute and oddly fluffy owl made its way to Malfoy Manor, the contrast of the dark building and unpleasant aura that currently surrounded it doesn't stop the owl for a second, determined to deliver its letter. You always gave it the best treats when it came back and nothing would get in its way of that.

Draco didn't notice the letter had arrived until it was in his mother's hands, some plain white envelopes, some black, some clearly enchanted to hold dark secrets but one light blue envelope with gold wax stuck out, he ran the rest of the way down the stairs to get it.

His mother looked up, slightly concerned as to why Draco was running towards her, especially with a smile on his face.

"Expecting a letter?" She asked quizzically.

"Yes," he mumbled as he picked the envelope from her fingers and went running back upstairs.

"Who's it from?" She called after him and he stopped, a light blush on his pale face, even though his mother knew all about you.

"Y/N sent it, it should say that she's coming tomorrow to visit."

"Well make sure to let me know, so we can plan accordingly." She smiled weakly, knowing full well that you just coming here was dangerous, but she didn't want to deny her son such a simple joy. She would try to make sure there were no unexpected guests visiting tomorrow.

Draco responded to the letter immediately, sending his owl in return and cleaning his already spotless room to prepare for your arrival the next day.

When you woke up the next morning you couldn't be more excited to see Draco. It had only been a few days since you saw him last, so you missed him a bit. The most exciting part though was that this all felt so real, it felt normal to go visit your boyfriend on summer break, to meet his parents and then enjoy the summer with him. There should be no death eaters, no plots to murder your headmaster, nothing to stress Draco out because he completed his mission, what else could Voldemort possibly want from him?

The air today was heavy with heat, it felt thick on your skin as it blew in through the window you left open. You picked out a yellow sundress, grabbed your sneakers and let your hair fall naturally. No makeup but a sunscreen charm to keep your skin safe from the relentless sunshine that blinded your eyes as you looked outside. Your brother was outside doing something your mother had probably asked him to do, which meant she was probably in the kitchen making breakfast.

The food floated above the oven, carefully preparing itself as your mother drank her tea at the table.

"Y/N dear, foods almost ready. Are you going out with your friends again today?"

"No, I told you last night, I'm going to see Draco today."

Your mother put her tea down, looking up at you with a serious expression, "Ah yes, I remember you mentioning that. I can't forbid you from going for sheltering you is never something I have done, and you will see him at Hogwarts regardless. So I'm allowing you to go, but I want to make sure you are safe, I know you are strong and a very skilled witch. Please come to me if there's ever any trouble."

"Mom, I'm just going to his house I'm not going to rob Gringotts!"

"No, I know but the Malfoy's don't have the best reputation. And you going there looking like this will make you stick out like a muggle in Diagon Alley. I know things Y/N, I've heard the rumours and I've seen people leave that house who don't look the friendliest."
