Grayson P.O.V
August 1, 2019
When I was younger my mom and dad used to tell me if you wait patiently love will find you and there's no way in hell the world can take them away from you. I believed it for a while but now I think it's absolute bullshit. We go through life and the pets that we love die, family that we love die and we get heartbroken from people that we love. How can they say that when every day the world rips someone from our arms and there's nothing we can do about it.
Grey/Grayson's mom P.O.V
"How could you Colton!" I whipped my wheelchair after Colton into our bedroom. After Colton told Grayson he had to marry before being able to run the company fully I rushed out of the office. Colton finally came home and I'm trying to withhold from wrapping my hands around his throat and squeezing until he's blue.
"LOOK at me!" I scream at him. " You are going to put our son in an arranged marriage when you know what happened to us!"
Colton looks down at my wheelchair and the leg I had lost from pushing out of the way from a moving car when we were younger. The car had smashed into a cement cinder block and had come crashing down on both my legs leaving me trapped for a couple of hours.
"We turned out fine." Colton tries to calm me down by giving me a smile. "besides Grayson needs someone to hold him strong in the company. We lost a million dollars from one deal because Grayson scared the man away. He needs someone kind and compassionate to come alongside him and help him in that area."
I let out a sigh. Still pissed at him I wheel past him making sure to run over his foot.
he lets out a howl "ok, ok I deserve that. I should have told you but I knew you would try to talk me out of it. I only made this decision because I knew it will benefit the company and my son."
"Fine. You better cook me dinner to make up for it though and I want a chocolate cake."
Colton laughs "ok fair enough."

Quin's P.O.V
I pull my blazer tighter around my body and take a big breath before walking into Brookson law building. Excited to rush to my interview I almost trip over my own feet but two hands grasp my wrists and pull me upright. I glance up and smile at the man who had saved me from an embarrassment. I smile at him and am about to say thank you but instead, he frowns at me and mutters "Watch where you're going." before walking away. Boy, that man has a stick up his ass.

Walking into the room where my interview is supposed to happen I look around but can't see very well. The room is dark except for a light shining on a chair that I'm guessing I have to sit in.
"Miss Quin Smith please sit and we will begin your interview." a voice says behind the light.
I sit in the chair and clutch my hands so that they won't shake. I wait patiently for the man to ask a question.
"Do you consider yourself as a person with good ethics?" The man asks.
I lick my lips before speaking "I try to have good ethics but we all have different standers on ethics so my ethics might not meet up with your's."
there's a pause before a woman's voice rings through "Could you please explain?"
I take a deep shaky breath before speaking " What I mean is that I try to be kind to those who might not deserve it, to me that's a good ethic whereas you might not see it as one. religion, culture and other things play into ethics, therefore, we can not all have the same ethical standard."
There's yet another pause before the man speaks again.
"Have you ever thought of marriage for convenience?"
I widen my eyes from the question, surprised by the need for this question I still answer. "I don't plan on getting married soon especially not for convenience."
"Do you think some of that has to do with your mom?" the man says.
"Sir, I don't see this being relevant for the simple job of being a secretary which is why I came here today." I'm starting to not like this anymore and feel like this might not be the right job for me. The light goes off and I blink my eyes until they adjust to the room. At the desk across from me is a serious looking man with a face worn out from smiling so much. He has warm eyes but a harsh voice and his blond hair has specks of grey in them. Next to him is a woman who has aged with beauty. I glance over the woman's shoulder and can see the handlebars for the wheelchair she's sitting in.
The man starts speaking again "Your mom's in a mental facility due to Alzheimer's and the past she had correct?"
I grind my jaw shut knowing that I shouldn't say anything.
"Well, Miss Smith, I know for a fact that you are struggling to pay the bills due to you paying for the facility that your mom's in so, I'm willing to pay for the facility that she is in for the rest of her life and make you rich if you do me a favor."
I eye him up and down and frown "What sort of favor?"
His face slowly forms into a grin "Marry my son."
I almost choke on my spit and I sit abruptly up. "Scuse me?!"
He goes back to his serious tone "I assure you my son is of great value to you, he can supply your sexu-"
I hear a thump under the table and he abruptly stops talking and lets out a groan of pain while glancing at the women sitting next to him."
The woman starts talking "My son is a fine gentleman. I raised him properly." She pulls out her phone and shows me a photo of him. The man staring back at me is not lacking anything when it comes to beauty. Blonde hair that coils into tight curls on top of his head, vibrant green eyes stare back at me making me ashamed of my brown ones.He was the man that saved me from falling on my face earlier.
"Ma'am with all due respect, I'm not interested." I get up to leave but her husband's voice stops me "You are five months behind in rent for your mom, If you marry my son you will never have to worry about that again."
I think back to when I was little and my mom would take care of me now, 26, I need to look after my mom.
"Fine but I still want to work and earn my share. I am not a prostitute so don't expect me to have sex with your son or anything like that."
"Well maybe one grandkid?"
I shake my head and she pouts her lip.
"Fine you and my son will meet tomorrow."
