Dear diary,
Days have passed. Stefan called telling me Damon hadn't been home since I talked to him. I never told Stefan what happened that day. I knew he'd be disappointed in my decision.

"Elena, Elena?" I heard a familiar voice say. I opened my eyes to see Stefan, Caroline, Bonnie, Jeremy, Matt, etc. "Happy Birthday!" They all yelled at once. I sat up and smiled largely. Jeremy handed me a tray filled with breakfast foods and cards form each of my friends. "Guys" I said, "I thought we weren't going to celebrate my birthday anymore." I smiled and looked up and Stefan. "It's your birthday Elena we aren't going to not celebrate," Caroline said with a giggle. "We'll let you enjoy your breakfast," Jeremy said as they all walked out of the room. Bonnie and Caroline stayed behind. "We picked out something special for you to wear!" Bonnie said excitedly. "Oh and we're going to do your hair and makeup!!" Caroline said almost screaming of excitement. I smiled again and quickly finished my breakfast so I could start getting ready.

Caroline started on my makeup as Bonnie went to go get the outfit out of her car. When Bonnie came back I tried it on. It was a long sleeve black dress with a triangle cut neckline with straps cross crossing though it. Caroling applied the finishing touches to my hair and pulled me back into my room so I could see my whole look. "I love it!" I told them both. I put on my black lace up heels and walked down stairs revealing my look to my friends and family. (Family meaning Jeremy) I spun around showing off how pretty I was thanks to my best friends. Stefan walked over to me saying three simple words, "you look beautiful." I smiled, "thanks, handsome." "Stefan just get to it already! Ask her!!" I heard Caroline say. The one thing I wanted was for this to happen... "Elena," he took my hands, "will you go on a date with me?" I started blushing. I smiled wider, "yes, Stefan Salvatore, I would love to." I couldn't stop smiling. I was reminded of the first time we met. It brought back good memories of before I became a vampire. "Shall we?" Stefan said putting his hand out in front of me. "We shall" I said curtsying.

We walked out front. I almost screamed when I saw a limo waiting for us. Stefan took my hand and walked me down the steps. He opened the door for me and I climbed in. Stefan followed me in, so we were sitting in the middle of the huge limo. "Where are we going?" I asked him. "It's a surprise." He told me smiling. He grabbed my hand again and quietly said, "you were right. This was meant. to. be." Meant. To. Be. Those three words played over and over again in my head. My heart fluttered and I started to blush. I couldn't stop smiling. We pulled over on the side of the road and Stefan started to move towards the door. He turned around, "you ready?" I was surprised. "Umm yeah, I'm ready." I scooted over towards the open door. Stefan offered me his and I gladly took it. When I stepped out I figured out where we were... Wickery Bridge.

I looked around smiling. Stefan took my hand and smiled. "Right this way." He said. We walked over the bridge looking out at the water. I thought about my parents and prom and how I became a vampire. "Are you ok?" Stefan asked with a reassuring smile. "Yes, I'm ok now that I'm here with you." I smiled up at him and we continued walking. We arrived at a small picnic spot. The same one we ate at last time. We enjoyed each other's company. There was nothing in this world that could top moments like these. "Are you daydreaming about me?" Stefan asked while smiling. "No." I said sarcastically. After talking and snacking for a while, the limo pulled up. We got back in and rode to Stefan's house.

When we got back he led me into a room I had never seen before. "This room is for you and Jeremy." He said looking down at me. "What? I mean it's beautiful and all but what do you mean?" "This is a place for you to stay when you or Jeremy stay here. I'm still waiting on the bed to get here and a few other decorations, but I do have a dresser." I smiled, "that's wonderful Stefan, thank you." "Go check out the dresser, it's an antique." He told me. I walked over to it admiring the beautiful carvings in the wood. I opened each drawer and when I got to the last one I was stunned. A small black box sat in the drawer. I picked it up and opened it. A beautiful ring laid inside. I turned around to Stefan. While smiling I said Sarcastically, "So is this like a friendship ring or..." "Do I really have to do it?" "Yes, you have to do it!" He got down on one knee. "Elena Jane Gilbert.." I couldn't stop smiling. "Will you marry me?" My heart fluttered. This is all I've ever wanted. A happy life... with Stefan. I quickly kissed him. "Yes, Yes! A thousand times yes!"

Dear diary,
I have decided to stop writing. My life is perfect. It's complete. Stefan has made forever happy. I believe we will be together forever.. literally. When him and I are together, every single atom in my body tells me that it is the right thing. That we are a perfect fit. And that kind of love.. has changed our whole lives. Jeremy has gone off to college I'm proud of him... for getting through everything. Caroline got a job as a stylist which suits her perfectly. Bonnie found someone she loves and has been spending most of her time with him. Damon...
Stefan walked in with a cup of tea
That's a story for another time.
Always and forever,
~Elena
