Nate frowned, hugging his lover tightly. Though due to his condition, it didn't feel like much. He had already screwed things up, he couldn't let them take Mark from him, too. He stroked his hair gently, pulling him into a kiss.

Mark deepened the kiss, playing with his hair, as the ringing softened just a little. Nate held the kiss, running a hand through his hair, using the other one to rub his back soothingly.

Mark felt it slowly die down, but at the same time, he started to feel dizzy. Nate pulled away, gazing at him for a moment. He tapped on his shoulder rapidly, using his other hand to point at the door frantically.

He looked at him with sleepy eyes. "What about the door, Natey?" Nate weakly grabbed his notebook, using what little energy he had left to scribble something down.

'LEAVE. NOW.'

He wrote sloppily, underlining the words.

Mark looked worried. "I'm not gonna leave without you... Why are you suddenly telling me to leave?" Nate sighed, shaking his head. He looked around frantically, pointing up at the TV. Mark bit his lip, trying to understand. "If they're looking for me, they're looking for you too, Nate. I promised I wouldn't leave. I'm not breaking that promise."

Nate grabbed his notebook, using his last bit of strength.

'DOCTOR KNOWS'.

He wrapped his arms around Mark's neck, gripping onto his shirt tightly, frantically nodding his head towards the door. Mark bit his lip harder. "It'll be harder to escape... People would notice.."

Nate looked around, glancing over at the window. Looking out, he noticed they were on the ground level. He looked back at Mark, frantically pointing at the window. Mark nodded, standing up, getting his one crutch, and getting Nate's wheelchair. Then, he realized something important. "How are we gonna get the wheelchair out?"

Nate slowly moved as he got off the bed, pushing himself to stand up. Though he immediately collapsed, falling onto the floor. Mark tried to help him up without bending down. "Baby, you should've waited. I would've helped you."

Nate nodded and gave him an apologetic look, gripping his arms tightly as he weakly pulled himself up.

Mark gave him all the strength he could, while also trying to be the hero again. He wanted to make Nate proud. He didn't want to be a crying emotional mess in front of a person who admires you. He then hands Nate his crutches and slowly starts to jump over the window, making sure they don't break.

Nate fell back in the chair the second he was outside, gripping onto Mark's arm as he tried to help him out.

Mark took a glance back at the door and saw the doctor's shadow outside, scanning her way in. The doctor nodded. "Yep. And I'll be sure to put them unconscious before I hand them to ya." She slowly ripped at her nail polish. "Alright."

The doctor opened the door and saw them running. Her eyes widened, and she quickly called back up. "The two captors have escaped!! We need to get them, now!!"

Mark quickly threw the crutches, and took Nate bridal-style, running out the window the fastest he could, not turning back. Mark bit his lip as his leg burned with pain, making it harder for him to run a long distance.

Nate held onto him as tightly as he could, squeezing his eyes shut as he hid in Mark's chest. At this point, he was helpless. He couldn't speak, couldn't walk, couldn't do anything, really. He had already lost the one he loved multiple times, he couldn't do it again. Nate shook his head frantically, hearing the voices. He looked up at Mark with teary eyes, mouthing the words 'I love you'. He wasn't sure if he would ever get the chance to say it again.

Mark looked at Nate and tried to wipe his tears. "I love you too, baby.." He says, bringing Nate closer to his chest when suddenly he hears the sounds he never wanted to hear. Ambulances. The memory of Carl bullets into his head and he nearly collapsed, all the memories flashing by.

Mark bit his lip, and closed his eyes, trying to calm down. This is when Mark needed Nate's words the most. But now with his voice gone... How will he manage? Nate was like a dream. You can get lost in him quickly. But when some elements are lost, you see the reality.

Nate reached up to cup his cheeks, kissing all over his face. It had worked before, hopefully, it would work now. Mark sighed and stopped running. "I-I'm sorry Nate... I c-can't do it... I f-feel like I'm g-gonna faint." He closed his eyes and took in a deep breath, his legs shaking. "Go. Find a way. H-Hide. Do s-something. This time I k-know there's no way out for me." Mark sniffled.

Nate shook his head frantically, holding onto him tightly. He didn't care what happened to him, he wasn't going to leave the one he loved to suffer alone.

Suddenly, an idea came to mind. He wasn't sure if it would work, but it was worth a shot. He pulled Mark's phone out from his pocket, dialing 911. He slid the phone back into Mark's pocket, looking like it had never even been turned on. This way, even if the doctors caught them, the police would hear everything. Hopefully, that would be enough to help.

Mark shivered and kissed Nate before falling onto the dead leaves, catching his breath. He leans against a tree weakly, and waves to Nate. "I'll find you someday, my love." Tears started emerging, but Mark sucked them up, in an effort to look like a hero on his last hours. Naturally, he felt like a hero. He sacrificed himself for the greater good. Superheroes do that, don't they?

Nate shook his head, moving to lay on Mark's lap. He curled himself up tightly, wrapping his arms around Mark's neck. If they were going down, they were doing it together. He wouldn't leave Mark to suffer alone. He rested on his chest, kissing down it weakly.

"Nate, please, " he kept begging until the sirens stopped. He looked around and saw the ambulance not that far away. He then slowly crept to a tree and panted lightly. "Nate, please... Don't do this to yourself. Just... They're probably looking for you. They won't do anything to me. I'll escape my dear. You probably won't." He says truthfully.

Nate shook his head once more, holding onto Mark as tight as he could. He looked up at his lover with teary eyes, biting his lip. "I love you. I'm staying." He mouthed, all the while praying in his head that the police were still on the phone, hearing everything that was happening.

Mark took a glance at the ambulance before standing up, his legs shaking. "Fine.. You can stay... But we need to-" Before he could finish, a tranquilizer dart flew past Nate and hit Mark straight on the shoulder. Mark looks at it for a moment before his eyes roll back in his head, and his body collapses onto the dry leaves. Before Nate could even get to Mark, the clan jumped out of the ambulance.
