"so, what is there to talk about today?" noah starts, his hands folded together. "how about we explain why were in here?" makena states, staring at lylia. she's still mad, and she wants lylia to share her story. "that's fine with me. Daniel?" I nod. maybe it won't be so bad.

"so, ill go first." noah awkwardly chuckles. "so, I got here about a year and 8 months ago, the last time I tried to remember before I fully gave up on counting the days."

"so, my parents sent me here. uh, my sister and I were extremely close, to the point where some people it was incest going on." i awkwardly coughed. i think I heard about that too.

"but it wasn't, not even close. but, my sister was sleeping with an older man who had left hickeys on her neck and chin. she didn't want to get the man in trouble and told my mother and father that I had snuck into her room the night before and tried to do stuff with her. she made the rumors 'true' and my parents sent me here. i was sent to court and pled innocent. when I was sentenced innocent, my parents had felt like they couldn't trust anything about me or me. So, the sent me here. 3 years ago." I stare at Noah. i would've never thought that would even be his story.

makena picks at her fork, smiling at lylia. lylia stares at her hands. she's shaking. she doesn't like this. makena starts. "well, mines quite simple. I don't care. my religious parents feel like I'm a sin and sent me here to help me get better. keyword, better. i think lylia should go next."

lylia looks up, staring at me. she mouthed im sorry and stands up. next thing you know lylia is screaming and kicking at the floor, causing guards to grab her and rush her to her room.

"you're gonna have to own up to it, lylia! it's not a secret around here!" makena shouts, following lylia. "why can't you just fucking admit that you are a murderer?!"
makena throws her bottled water at the wall and is carried to her room.

noah stands up and starts walking to his room. "their lying, aren't they?" i ask, following after him. he doesn't answer. "noah, are they lying?" he turns to me as he opens his door. "yes, Daniel. they're both compulsive liars. they grew up here." he walks in, and closes the door.
