Chapter 4

Flames

(Rose's POV)

"Rose!" Lani called, sitting on the ground. "Thank goodness you're here!" I just stared at her.

"Lani, why are you on the ground?" I asked.

"I hurt my leg, I can't walk." Call me insane but those words made me happy. The timing of this is perfect. I started to laugh. Like an insane person. "What's so funny?" Lani asked with a confused look on her face.

I looked at her and smiled, "You have no idea, do you?" She gave me a confused look and shook her head.

"Rose, what are you talking about?" My laughter turned to anger.

"You killed Grey."

Lani rolled her eyes, "Rose he was a villain! I-" I cut her off.

"Exactly! He was a villain pretending to be a hero, just like me!"

She looked at me confused, "Rose what are you saying..." It was like I didn't care if she found out. I just explained everything.

"I'm a villain! Just like Grey!" I slowly walked towards her.

"T-That can't be true..." Lani said.

"It is. All heroes want is power and money. The government pays heroes to stop violence with more violence." I took a deep breath and glared at Lani. "Just like you." Lani shook her head.

"Rose that's not true!" I glared at her, tears forming in my eyes.

"You killed Grey... The ONLY one who understood me. This.." I said as my hand lit on fire using my powers, "Is payback" I put my hand on the pillar that was the only thing holding the up building. I set it on fire.

"Rose!" Lani yelled as I turned my back on her. "Rose, please!" I could hear tears start to form from the sound of her voice. "We can talk this out, please don't leave me here!" I walked forward towards the exit, the sounds of the roaring flames and Lani's screams behind me. 

And I didn't look back.
