The golden hour fills the farm shed with warm light. Shining through the trees it outlines his silhouhette.
He shuffles around his drum kit, planting himself on the stool. He sits there expressionless.
A girl stands, arms crossed leaning her shoulder against the farm door. The top of her head resting against the metal. The sun ignites a glow around her. She gazes at him and their eyes connect, only for a second. Aknowledging that he knows she's there. His eyes pierce her. Heavy silence fills the air, only broken by the quiet click of the smooth drumsticks as he picks them up. He runs them in his hands, feeling the eyes of the girl on him.
He presses play and the speakers behind him fill the barn with noise. He taps along, his arms slowly rising and falling as the drum beat kicks in. The girl pulls herself off the door.
With two giants thuds the beat fills the room, the door rattles as his energy pulses through them.
Dun-DUN
Eyes closed with concentration he pumps down on the drums following the music. She taps her foot along.

Dun-DUN
Bm tsk. Bm tsk. Bm tsk. Dun-DUN. Bm tsk. Bm tsk.

Overcome with the beat the girl throws herself to the music. The sounds surround her, bouncing off the walls of the shed. The room vibrates with energy.

"Well, I cant get you out of my head.
Well, I cant get you out of my head,
You dont want to know me."

The lyrics channel through her as she moves.

Bad-doom, Bad-doom, Bad-doom. BOOM-BOOM.

She takes off tapping, spinning and jumping to the beat.
Throwing her hands up in frustration. Eyes closed she lets the beat take her.

Bm-tsk. Bm-tsk. Bm- tsk. Bad-doom. Bad-doom. Bad-doom. BM. BM. BM. BM. BM. BM.

The boys pours his energy into hitting each note perfectly as the beat lives through his body. His head bangs with the beat of the drum. His arms rising and slamming back down with every sound. Leg bouncing up and down on the bass, disrupting his whole body. Biting his lip in concentration, he lets the lyrics course through him.

"Im drowning,"
Bm-tsk. Bm-tsk. Bm-tsk.
"Im drowning."

Looking up he sees the sunlight swirl off her skin as she dances.
She moves without care. She stomps and twirls and bounces her head to the beat. Syncing the lyrics, passionate emotion pours from her.

"...dont want to know me."

Bad-da-da-dum. Bad-da-da-dum. Bad-da-da-dum. DUM-DUM.

A drum solo has the boy surging passion as with each beat, a bit of his soul pulses through the drum and out into the air, into her.

Bm-tsk. Bm-tsk. Bm-tsk. Bm-tsk. Bm-tsk.

His heads bangs along with every beat. Eyes closed, his whole body animated and dedicated to the song. Lip bitten, frustrated built up emotion spills from his seams.

"Im drowning,"
Bm-tsk. Bm-tsk. Bm-tsk.
"Im drowning.
All these girls with their high IQ's
And you can try to resist but its no use."

Impassioned with emotion and movement the boy now stands. Slamming the sticks onto the drum with full force. Eyes closed, he pours his whole soul, energy and heart into the drum.

"It all comes down to you,
Its all on your head."

The girl facing away from him, jumps from side to side. Hyping herself up she jumps as if to shake the floor. The dust from the bare earth kicks up around her like a cloud. The bridge coming she slows down tapping her foot on the ground. Swaying her hips to the beat.

Bm-tsk. Bm-tsk. Bm- tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. TSK. TSK.

The beatless bridge starts and the music dissipates. Leaving only the voices of the lyricists. The boy stands at his drum kit, exhausted. Arms limp by his side. Looking at her as she faces away from him. She pours emotion into her solo as she syncs to the lyrics as if she is addressing an audience. Jumping and fist pumping the air.

"Well, I cant get you out of my head,
Well, I cant get you out of my head.
Well, you dont want to know me!"

Bad-dum. DUM-DUM.

The boy takes off again with the final chorus. Standing, every last drop of energy he has left he passionately pounds into the beat. Sweat drips off his forehead as he loses himself into the music.
His heart aches with frustration as he releases his anxieties into the sound. He pours the last of his soul into air.
The girl animated with the thundering sounds of the last chorus sheds the last of her self conciousness as she moves. Pounding her soul into the ground as she springs to the beat. It vibrates within her. Surrounded by the sound of his energy she leaves herself completely vulnerable before him.

BAD-DOOM. TSK.
"You dont want to know me."

With one final aching thud of the drum he stands, defeated. Arms by his side.
Silence.
She's standing in front of him. Unguarded.
Their eyes connected. Chests rising and falling in unison, exhausted.
Nothing between them but beating hearts and a drum kit.
Silence engulfs them. Only broken by the sound of their breath.
and finally the quiet thud of his drumsticks falling to the ground.

He kisses her.
