8 minutes
The third minute was always the hardest for Jack. Ianto would gaze into his eyes until the tears started to build up, and he would collapse into Jack, erupting into a fit of hysterical sobbing and hyperventilating. Ianto would scream and yell at Jack telling him he couldn't cope with it anymore, and that he missed him so so much. And of course Jack felt exactly the same, and the worst part was that he couldn't do anything about it because of his immortality. But he had to remain strong, for Ianto's sake, however he could not always do that. Not when he missed Ianto constantly.
Ianto would shake violently as Jack would always try to calm him down, stroking his hair softly and whisper sing songs to him. Jack would cradle Ianto and rock back and fourth, and eventually Ianto would calm down to the steady beat of Jack's heart.
He felt so guilty, it was the same each time, the same routine, the same ten minutes of immense emotional pain. Ianto would always suffer a panic attack and soon after Jack would have to leave, to return to his lonely immortal life, without his Ianto Jones.
