 Noah Patterson (3rd POV)

Trying to get comfortable, Noah shifted on his hospital bed. It's been a few hours since his friend, Amelia, came to visit him. When she had rushed out of the room, Noah had sat on his bed wishing he had called out to her so they could talk more. He felt scared and nervous to be alone because of what had happened on that same morning.

Noah shuddered at the thought of it, the way the man grabbed his arm roughly and thrown him to the ground.

Feeling cold all of a sudden, Noah grabbed his comforter and pulled it over his head, trying to drown out the sound of the TV and the nurses out in the hall. Noah wanted to forget what happened but no matter how much he tried, the face of the man kept popping up in his head.

"Get out," He whispered, closing his eyes but regretting it instantly as the image of the old man popped up in his head. His skin, dry looking and wrinkled. The gross stench of his clothes. His red, huge eyes wide open as if he's seen a ghost. Noah gripped the bed comforter tighter, so tight that he could almost feel his fingernails through the thin hospital sheets.

"Noah?" Someone called, knocking three times on the open door. "It's time for your pills."

Noah recognized the light soft voice that had spoken instantly. It was Mrs. Balder, Noah's doctor. She has been Noah's doctor since his mother had passed away, that was a few months after Noah was born. To Noah, Mrs. Balder was like his second mom.

Still clutching the comforter, Noah sat up slowly on his bed. Mrs. Balder stood by the door with a big smile on her face. She was wearing the formal nurse wear and unsurprisingly her signature black Adidas shoes that she had gotten years ago as a gift.

"Are you okay?" Mrs. Balder asked, her smile dropping from her face. She walked over to Noah's hospital bed and rested her hand lightly on his forehead. Noah lightly shoved her hand away and simply nodded.

The nurse took that as an answer and walked on over to the drawers next to the bed, pulling out a clean popsicle stick and a pair of gloves. "I know you want to get out of this place," She said softly. "but you're going to have to wait until your injuries heal. I think i'm going to have to tell your father to let you take a few days off of school because..."

Noah rolled his eyes, he loved his doctor, she was family to him, but she just talked way too much. Not wanting to hear her talk for hours, Noah smoothly interrupted her, "When do you think I will get out?"

Mrs. Balder stopped what she was doing and turned around to face Noah, giving him an 'are you serious?' look. "Not anytime soon." She said. "You hit your head really hard, you're very lucky you didn't get a concussion. You should be grateful to get a few days off of school. All that learning and stress will do you no good. I remember when I was your age..."

Noah sighed dramatically and leaned back on his bed, his focus going to the TV.

After the check up and a couple of painkillers, Noah asked Mrs. Balder if he could walk around the hospital since he's been in his room for a long time.

"Well, I suppose so." Mrs balder said while tightening up Noah's hospital gown. "But don't stay out too long, you have to come back in time for your meal or else they will skip your room."

Noah, not caring if he misses the nasty hospital food, simply nodded and quickly left the room before Mrs. Balder could suddenly change her mind.

He walked down the hall and turned the corner to where he saw the exit to outside. Noah wasn't sure if he was allowed outside since he was a patient, but he didn't care. He just needed some fresh air.

Not being able to use his hands, Noah opened the door with his elbow and slid outside. For the second time that day, Noah took in the beautiful spring weather. The colorful leaves on the trees was bringing out the clear blue sky above.

Noah took a deep breath in, trying to clear his mind. He thought about Amelia and how she would probably love to paint this scenery. He thought about his stepdad and how he was probably worrying sick about him.

He thought about Mrs. Balder, his mom. Then, he thought about this morning. That strange guy and who he may be.

Not being being able to hold his breath in any longer, he let it out.

Finally got this uploaded!! I have good news and bad news. Bad news is that I am going to be taking a short break to edit my past chapters and to write some more chapters. I dont know how long this break will be but I can tell you I will be back before February. Good news is that the next chapter will probably be longer than this.

Now that we got that out of the way, how did you feel about this chapter?

I personally dont like writing in third point of view but writing in it was surprisingly easy. Thank you all for reading, I honestly hope you enjoyed the chapter as much as I did!

Until later~ Goat
