we're having fun and laughing and playing minecraft. this is the most fun i've ever had with anyone. suddenly, my phone buzzes.
1 new message from mom
peridot, you have no idea how late it is! have you checked the time? come home this instant.
11:30pm
yeesh. maybe i should get home.

we were having fun until peridot stopped. her phone buzzed and when she saw whatever text she got, she went emotionless. my heart sank.
"what is it, peri?", i ask.
"i- i have to go."
"what, already?"
"it's.. it's 11:30.."
"oh."
peridot had gotten her coat on and before she left, i stopped her.
"wait-"
"yes?"
"i forgot to give you my number."
peridot's face lit up.
"oh yeah."
she entered her number into my phone and i entered mine into her phone.
she then hugged me and left.
after she left, i had realized something.
peridot had this amazing vibe and personality that no one else i talked to had. maybe i-

by the side of my bed, i see a gray hoodie with a green alien on it. i'm guessing that's the hoodie she was talking about since no one in my family ever really wears green.
i examined the hoodie and, uhm, maybe smelled it, maybe wore it, then took it off after.
i'm going to keep this hoodie forever omg, i thought to myself.
oh my gosh.
i plopped into my bed, and expected to go to sleep. i kept tossing and turning and then finally went to bed.
