It was the day after their wedding, Jacob and Alexa had slept in quite a bit. This was a first in Jacob's life, he was always a light sleeper, so sleeping in this morning was unusual. Alexa woke up before him, her back was turned to him, so she took a peak and saw his eyes shut.

She slowly and gently sat up, keeping her eyes on him as she did so and turned her whole body towards him. She placed a hand on his scarred cheek and caressed it softly with her thumb, "Jakey, wake up" but he didn't even move a muscle. She bit her lip as she tried to think of how to wake him up and when she did think of a plan, she straight away got into action. At the end of the day she had a bit of making up to do for last night. It was officially their honeymoon and Jacob had emptied the Veterans Centre the day before, so that he can have alone time with his new bride for a few days.

"Come on then, let me cook you some breakfast" Alexa put her hand out towards Jacob. He grabbed her hand and walked out of the bedroom and into the kitchen with his wife. "Sit" she ordered and was given a raised eyebrow by Jacob. "Who do you think you are, trying to push me around?" He crossed his arms. "You're wife thank you very much. Now sit" Alexa looked back at him, then turned back to the fridge. "Fair point" Jacob didn't argue and took a seat at the small table.

Jacob watched Alexa the whole time she cooked breakfast, still trying to figure out how he got so lucky with marrying a young and beautiful girl like her. But she was his, she belonged to him now and he was going to do everything in his power to keep her with him forever.
