Chapter 13

Six weeks later

It was the night before Jacob and Alexa's wedding, everyone had gone to bed early except for Alexa. She was nervous and excited about tomorrow, she was finally going to become Jacob's bride and she couldn't wait to say "I do". But her nerves weren't the only thing keeping her awake at the moment, she was in a lot of pain the last couple of days, both physically and emotionally.

Flashback to four days ago:

Alexa had been sitting on her knees in the bathroom as her thoughts went back to the camping trip with Jacob, when the four days of being trapped in a boring cabin had led them to have unprotected sex every night. Now she was in her bathroom, holding a pregnancy test that she had done a few days ago, in her hand tightly. She was expecting this to happen, it was bound to happen, it was the reason why Jacob and her had an argument after their first night but they both had accepted the consequences.

Alexa was terrified if Joseph and her parents found out that she was pregnant and not even married to Jacob yet, they'd be so mad at her. No matter how many times Jacob reassured her that none of them will hurt her, she was still terrified. Her hands were shaking, tears rolled down her cheeks as she stared deeply at the positive pregnancy test and the only thing she could think about, was giving Jacob a call but she couldn't. He would get excited and have his hopes high, it was way too early to tell anyone, especially Jacob.

She stood up, turned her body to the sink and started washing her face to feel refreshed. She walked out the bathroom, then her bedroom and then joined her family in the kitchen for breakfast. She had no appetite to eat, she still felt sick and she knew that putting food in her mouth would only make her run to the bathroom again. That's not what she wanted or else her parents might start questioning her about it.

Just as she was about to sit down at the table, the doorbell rang and she gestured to her mother. Opening the door, she smiled when she saw Jacob standing in front of her with Joseph and John beside them. "Sorry we came unannounced but Joseph wanted to get some wedding things organised" Jacob smiled and Alexa made way for the Seed brothers to walk in. "We were just about to have breakfast, come and join us" Alexa said and escorted them to the kitchen.

Dianna and Tom flew out of the chairs when they saw the Seed brothers, quickly making room for the three of them to sit at the table. Alexa looked up at Jacob, grabbed his hand and squeezed it tightly. He could tell something was wrong with her, she didn't look very well and her face was pale. He walked her into the living room and cupped her face, "something wrong kitten? You look terrible" he asked her and she knew that she had no choice but to tell him. She pulled the pregnancy test out of her pocket and showed him, "I'm pregnant Jacob" she informed him and he glanced down at the test. He took it out of her hand and took a closer look at the two pink lines on the test, "ahh, this was bound to happen. Did you tell anyone?". She shook her head, "how can I tell anyone Jacob? You know that I've been dreading for this moment to come". He pulled her in for a hug and pressed a few kisses on the top of her head, "it's ok, we'll get through it" he encouraged her.

They joined everyone at the table and listened to Joseph and Dianna talk about the wedding that was a few days away. Alexa was sitting between Jacob and John, when she suddenly felt pain hitting her stomach. She tried her best to not show it but the pain was getting worse. John has noticed her moving around slightly, like as if she was uncomfortable in some way and just as he was about to say something, he looked down and noticed blood damping her jean shorts. "Shit Alexa are you ok?" He flung out of his seat and looked at Jacob, signalling him to look down at his fiancé.

Alexa grabbed her stomach and couldn't hold her screams of pain any longer, she put her other hand on Jacob's hand and squeezed it. When he finally looked down and noticed the blood, he jumped out of his seat, grabbed her and carried her to the car. Everyone was confused on what was happening, dropping anything that was in their hands and ran after Jacob, Alexa and John.
